TL;DR: Recommend but a HUGE ASTERISK, i wish i could be more middle of the road.

Pros:
- Cosmetics still continue to be top of their game
- Events have nice challenges and happen often, new event modes have been real fun
- Balance changes have been pretty great and refresh the meta quite often
- Lots of fun newer heroes, love Kiriko, Rammatra and Illari.
- Im a sucker for cross progression and works pretty well between PC and Xbox
- Accessibility and customization are peak on how you want to play

Middle ground:
- F2P!
- 5v5 is not as bad as people say
- PvE CAN be fun but very minimal replayable content, largest missed opportunity and I wish they stuck with the hero skill trees of some sort because it would have been amazing to play with. You know the story...
- Hero mastery missions give some more content but at the time of writing, ONLY 5 characters have them and 3 of those are released (1 more comes tomorrow, 1 more the week after). Great for warm ups and speedrunning!

Cons:
- F2P...
- Battle passes every 2 months BUT you can complete this pretty quickly
- Terrible experience for newer players who have to play (read pay) so much to get older cosmetics that older players got for free years ago, even returning events from OW1
- Newer players have to unlock the heroes that older players have had since launch UNLESS you buy your way in :)
- Ranked play is a mess in rank updates and queue times
- Lots of expensive packages that simply aren't worth it unless you can get some discounts (think Fortnite discount on bundles if you own some of the items), even then arent a huge discount

Final thoughts: I wish this game didn't get as much hate as much as it does BUT I understand why its getting it. I loved the first game and its pretty much the experience I feel like I remember for the most part. However, Blizzard should've kept their promise and are definitely full greed on this so tread lightly. With things going on with Xbox/Blizz, keep tabs on how things go with this on coming seasons.
