Hello Black Cat. I did a search on "What is the point of Elite Dangerous" and came across your thread of 2015. I know, that's a long time ago, but I'm a new-comer to the game. Like you, I did not do the search because I dislike the game, I did the search wondering if I was missing something and what might be coming if I stick with it. Right now, it's wash-rinse-repeat. It's taking forever to level-up from "Mostly Harmless." I can core mine like a pro. Every solar system is pretty much the same. I have been enjoying the game, but, for me, it's time to move on.

I thought some of the responses to your post were quite sarcastic--not all that uncommon on the internet, I'm afraid.
