Did you ever wanted to play a realistic war game where teamplay and cooperations were actualy present?
Did you ever DREAMED about helpfull squadmates and teammates?
Did you ever played an Early Access that actualy gave you hope?

if at least the answer is YES then you came to the right place, lad.

Yes, im just 4 hours in-game, i know, i know...boo-hoo i'm not a pro with 200 hours + kickstarter alpha.
But i know how to recognize a good game. and this is one of those.
While having some issues due to being an Alpha...The game play is solid, the gunplay is magnificent, and the feeling...oh boy the feeling...

My first match was on some sort of Afghanistanish enviroment, i jumped in and said hi to my squad. Instantly most of members replied (t'was the start of the match). I said that i was new so don't bash me too hard if i f**k up, i waited for some typical CSGO-ish insults...but instead all i got was "Don't worry man, if you need help with anything, just ask!". I was shocked! A cooperation based war game with ACTUAL team feeling? C'mon i gotta be high or something.
But what happened the rest of the match confirmed that i wasn't high nor dreaming.
Squad leader sent us to some sort of complex. we needed to wipe the enemies from it and fortify the position. No errors, no team insults, everyone was helping each other to get inside, take out the russians and fortify. "Hey i need someone with a shovel here to make sandbags!" 2 guys came.
We stood there for a while waiting and our squad leader left and, still don't know how, seems i was the team leader. I didn't knew it until had 3 guys infront of me yelling "for f*cks sake Beer! You're the squad leader! Do your job!".
We were surrounded by russiand and shots were coming from everywhere, i commanded to take cover inside a 2 story building since peaking out was 100% suicide, our plan was wait for a window to retreat to a safe location. Then a different "radio channel" popped out.
"Hey 2nd squad what's your situation", inside my head all i could do is call me stupid for not thinking that there a radio channel for squad leaders to communicate between 'em. "Well...we're kinda f*cked here, we're trying to hold the fort but we're surrounded and taking casualties".
"Don't worry, lad. Were Oscar Mike. Be there in less than 5 minutes"
The shots intensified, and not from our side of the walls. Granades blowing all around the yard. And then... they started to stop, every second there were less shots...
i peaked from a windows to check what was going on and there they were. 9 guys getting into the yard and one of em saying "hey second squad, needed help?".

We lost the match afterwards but the feeling was that we won any way.
I never felt terrified in a war game before...The shots flying around your head. Watching squad mates fall as the shooting intensifies and you see more and more figures peaking around the trees.
And the intense feeling of joy of seeing another squad actualy coming to help you.

So my veredict is this...
While having some typical alpha issues (Optimization, not much content)
It is playable, and if it is so awesome now on alpha...i can't even imagine how will it be finished.

Best 37 euros spent in my whole life.

Incredible graphics
Superb characters
Amazing, yet unfinished, story

This could be GOTY if not for the fact that pretty much 1/3 of the game has been cut off and leaves you in a big cliffhanger
Still...
9/10 Would be played like a fiddle again

Want a good game, with good develpment pace. actualy USEFUL updates, not a worthless antihack, good-ish community and a huge map with zombies?
Then buy Arma 2 complete edition and download DayZ mod , Overpoch or lots of DayZ-ish mods.
Or wait for Arma 3 mod Exile Dayz to be publicly released....

I loved DayZ since early early stages of the mod. And i still play it. I even defended this game and was one of the guys saying "Dude...don't whine, it's a pre-alpha"...but this?...+3 years in development ..but, for real...this?
When you want to build a house you don't put furniture inside and start painting the blocks before actualy building the house...First you build the fundament, then the pillars, the walls, the roof And THEN you move in the furniture yadda y0adda.
Well the first example is DayZ. Every update is 70% new items, 28% implementations, 1% bug fixing.
The engine is beyond broken. I can play almost every current-gen game on high or even maxed with my humble 4ghz cuadcore, 2gb 260x and 24 gb of ram.
In dayz it'll be a miracle if i hit 10 fps in a city with all lowered and with the lowest resolution.
The community is pretty much a DM society glorifying them selves for killing unarmed people with a sniper rifle from 1km.
And the list could go on....

Maybe one day this game will be actualy enjoyable and playable. Or maybe they will just leave it on Alpha for 10 years more and abandon the project just as its creater.
Who knows. Meanwhile, if you're a masochist, buy it!
But as i said above, i'd recommend buying ArmA2 complete and get DayZ mods as Epoch or Overwatch.
Gosh...even third party antihack on mod servers are more usefull than this games...

A kid tried to follow me to my humble house and kill me. Instead, i killed him and looted his corpse. Later that day...For two hours he was crying at my doorway asking me to give him back his loot. Of course i didn't do it.

So, i just downloaded the game and actualy payed the money to keep it in my library.
If you are obsessed with polished graphics, effect, animation etc. Get out of here right now, this is not your game. While having some decent graphics, they actually look very dated and the animation are very sloppy and baddly done.

But the thing is, if you don't look very much into those aspects, it's a pretty decent game to have fun for a while.

The modes are pretty fun and killing waves and waves of dinos keeps you playing for a good while. It's kind of addicting!
It remembers me Killing Floor but with dinos. Kill waves, after the waves arm up, repeat.

Is it worth it? maybe. For me it's worth it. i really like the game!

Animations are crap
Graphics look like from a 2008/2010 game, not a modern game.

Veredict:
A nice game if you want to play something different since most games like this are just about zombies etc. It's a nice alternative! and as i said, if you don't put importance to the graphics and the animations, try it out! And more now because it's just 0.99$!
