Large maps, long games, more slow paced. Great sound/effects when shooting/getting shot at etc.

It is refreshing to play a more "hardcore" game. There is no bullet sponge.

Game has kept over 50% of its peak player base, which is rare.

Worth the money if you are looking for something different from CS/Valorant/COD and other sponge games. Again though, the game is far slower paced than those.

UPDATE: --- DO NOT BUY --- They are removing the game from people who bought their keys from 3rd party websites. (Think GreenManGaming)

This game is a hot mess. AOE is broken, not in the overpowered way, in the "only 1 AOE spell works at a time and erases the other AOE spell damage." and no, there is no level priority. If a level 10 casts their AOE on your level 60 AOE, theirs takes over.

This is the same with heals, heals no longer stack, you can not have 2 AOE heals overlapping or it cancels one.

Ban system is in fact 100% automated despite what they claim. If 5 people report you, you will get a 24hr ban. What you did doesn't matter because false reports isn't punished.

Entire companies getting banned leading up to war from mass reports.

Bots fishing, no bans.

Bots mining, no bans.

Bots logging, no bans.

You can find those same bots every day in the same spot.

Real money gold spam, never ends.

Economy is already flatlining.

Level 30-35, 40-45 and 53ish-60 are grinds. There are no story quests or good quests to assist in the XP needed. It is terrible.

Trading posts aren't linked in anyway, so auction house is completely region specific.

They lied about server transfers. (this doesn't hurt me)

This is not worth the $40. This more like a f2p game by a first time game dev indie company.

Not about Queue times.

This is about everything other than the actual gameplay. (Which isn't bad, because I will play it even though the following)

You can be mass reported and banned/perma, for any reason. They, Amazon, will not share it with you and will not overturn it. (I saw nothing in Rule and Guidelines regarding links other than phishing, so here is an example https://old.reddit.com/r/newworldgame/comments/q2ovgt/update_i_got_permanently_banned_for_saying/ ) His reason is [INSERT BAN REASON] and at the bottom of the reply Amazon tells that person to not contact them again and that they will not share why they were banned or even respond. Their ban system seems to be entirely automated despite what they say.

Bots are all over the place, gold spammers, ore bots, fishing bots. It is crazy. You can't get anything.

Servers are absolutely garbage. Consistent lag.

Their guidelines are extremely vague and can be construed in many ways. It is barely 1 page. lol

It is currently being setup as a cash-cow pay-to-not-have-a-headache-game. Storage is super limited, fast travel is super limited, there is no auto pathing and they have a cash shop which is currently all cosmetics but I can see Azoth being shoved in there because you need A LOT to fast travel AND craft... they cap you at 1000 Azoth.

CONCLUSION:

Buy it at your own peril. It isn't terrible, it reminds me of runescape in a way.

Just mute all chats, don't interact with people on the microphones etc. You can not make jokes, you can not make slights, you can't take shots, you can't be a person. Also the code of conduct states this game is clearly for enjoyment and to Play To Enjoy The Game as well as Focus On The Game.

Saw this on Gamescon, thought I would give it an honest try.

Nope, I couldn't make it more than 10 minutes.

1. There is no jumping, only "vaulting" over approved objects.

2. Recoil.

3. I tried out the shotgun, apparently we are using birdshot.

4. Tried out the sniper. The creators of this game have never every picked up a gun IRL, let alone looked down a scope. When you aim down the scope the crosshair BOUNCES AROUND. The outline of the scope is completely static, the crosshair itself MOVES AROUND. WHY? What the hell is the purpose of this? You can't fire more than 1 shot within 3-5 seconds because when you shoot, it goes crazy.

5. Bullet sponges.

6. LOTS much going on. Different skins have different armor values, different grenade choices etc.

6B. Different Skins have different loadout slots possible, meaning one will allow 3 grenade slots but only 2 perk slots. Another will allow 1 grenade, 3 perks etc.

6C. You can't quick swap to things. You press 3 different buttons, one for each grenade.

6D. Not every skin gets every grenade, skins get different nades, different things.

Good also comes with bad.

Good - Map is large and seemingly complex. Lots of things on the field.

Bad - Game time is so fast that you don't get to actually use the big map, you have to pretty much rush to the objective point.

Suggestion: Increase round times, let defending team have a X second headstart to setup defenses. Otherwise what is the purpose of traps?

Game mode - Good.

But, I don't get the 3 teams deal. It feels like 3v3 instead of 3v3v3.

Game mode isn't explained at all. Nor are objectives.

Long time 4X player, this isn't like any other 4X, it is an embarrassment.

There are plenty of things wrong with this game, but I will list the two major reasons why I refunded the game, the first being the primary, the second reason being a "if its like this now, it wont get better later in the game."

Primary reason why I refunded -

Pace of the game is directly tied to length of the game.

Yes, you read that correctly. They have a max turn count depending on the pace you wish to play at.

Quickest pace? Game ends turn 75. Turn seventy-five.

Slowest pace? Game ends turn 750. Yes, that is correct, seven-hundred-fifty.

Hm, so do the math real fast... 75x10 = 750 or maybe 750/10 = 75.

Pace and length of the game are the exact same, one is just either 10x faster or 10x slower. You can pick a quick pace with unlimited turns or an endless ironman slow pace game.

This alone was the reason I wanted a refund. Whoever decided to limit the time I can play based on turns deserves to be fired.

Second thing that was absolutely silly that I ran into...

Your boat full of warriors that are traversing the sea via transport/raft? Yeah, they have zero penalty against ships.

Imagine you built up this small navy of Triremes and then all of a sudden someone brings a bunch of warriors on rafts... guess who wins? Hint: Not the navy.

But the biggest silliness of it all is that I can go from being Phoenician then make my civilization merchantile and in the next era make it Huns then the next era make it Aztec then Ottoman then Siamese then Swede.

p.s. their contemporary choices are an absolute joke.


Do not buy. Game is not good, not ready, missing features, balances etc.

I am giving this a negative review simply because it is region locked on Steam and not on Switch.

I can play anyone anywhere in Streetfighter, Guilty Gear -Strive-, Dragonball etc.

Remove region locks.

Anyone saying this isn't a review must not have online friends in other countries. I can't play with them. It's a legit complaint.

I bought this game for it's multiplayer stuff.

First fighting game? This game has an incredibly long and comprehensive tutorial/mission, something around 110 in total. It teaches you the mechanics of the game and what things are, not just how to press K for kick.

Experienced Fighting game player? You can't mash in Guilty Gear games, footsie heavy, hit confirm heavy, execution heavy.

The game has a low floor for entry and an incredibly high skill ceiling.

Private lobbies are kinda dookie and the only bad part but I will gladly sacrifice that for everything else in this game.

Played PSO2 a bit, didn't like it, overwhelming because I got in late. Graphics were bleh, stuck on a crappy space ship.

PSO2 New Genesis improved in every way. Fresh start, better graphics, open world. Combat is fun and engaging.

Never buying a season pass for this game again. I am surprised we can't get a refund since what they claim has been false. 2-day early character release? Nope. Not happening for us on PC/Steam, only on Xbox and PS4.
