Transmissions Element 120 is a Source Mod released in 2016.

The story takes place on a mysterious date and location,
after the events of Half-Life 2 Episode Two.
Where are you? Why have you been sent there?
It doesn't matter, hostile creatures and the Combine are after you.
A mysterious abandoned weapon will help you get out of this mess.
You'll have to do everything to escape from this dark city and save your own life.

The city in which the Mod takes place resembles City 17,
very industrial and oppressive but more gloomy, since it is perpetually plunged into darkness.
The station is covered by graffitis, the sewers are narrow,
murky and filthy in addition to being infested with Zombies.

Although it may seem classic at first glance, the Mod takes on a whole new dimension when you find the "Zero Point Energy Projector Propulsion Maneuveur".
This tool, which appears at first glance to be a simple red Gravity Gun,
offers new gameplay possibilities.
Indeed, this "Gravity Concussion Gun" as it's nicknamed,
fires energy balls which allow you to propel yourself upwards,
like a "Rocket Jump" but without receiving any damage.
These projectiles, however, are powerful enough to kill anyone who gets in your way.
You can also break down doors and barricades, and propel objects towards your enemies using this revolutionary device.
In addition, most of Half-Life 2's weapons are also available.

The pretty play of light and shadow gives rise to clever new level design features.
Zombies are blind in the dark, the same goes for Combine Turrets,
so you can use their handicap to good effect.
Some graffiti are phosphorescent,
and can have another meaning once they are no longer illuminated.
For example, a Lambda graffiti typical of the Resistance,
can become an arrow indicating the path to take if you turn off the nearby lights.
Moreover, the light sources display a nice “lens flare” effect.

To perfect the atmosphere,
nothing like some background music composed especially for the occasion,
accompanied by some from Half-Life 1 and HL2.

Transmissions Element 120 is a fun, unique and well thought out Mod.
Between its gloomy atmosphere, its sandbox gameplay and its originalities,
everything will pleasantly surprise fans of Half-Life 2.
Only its very short duration is to be deplored, we are really left wanting more.
