This feels like a Chinese/Korean MMO mobile game swarm of incoherent nonsense that goes together to make a game that just feels unsatisfying to play.

Sounds all feel low quality, annoying and repetitive. Skills all feel like they do the exact same things just with some different keywords stuck in there. The character designs are waaay too edgy for me to tolerate, and I ended up just alt-f4ing the game when it kept showing me random systems with little to no explanation on what was even happening.

I saw a review post about this game on my phone and it looked interesting from that, but it just goes to show how awful games journalism really is. Especially when they say this game met the standard of pulling players away from vampire survivors, which is a much better game, and there's plenty of other survivor likes out there that are actually worth your time anyway.

I do like this game, but in the current state it's nothing but frustrating. There's missions that require you to survive 25 minutes, but this new king lurker boss spawns at 20 minutes and most of the time seems completely overpowered compared to the enemies at that time. I can be doing perfectly fine, killing all the normal enemies easily just to have everything INSTANTLY destroyed by the boss, and I mean INSTANTLY. Even stacked barriers couldn't stop about 80% of my buildings being destroyed in an instant and losing that 20 minutes of playing the game.

Hopefully this gets addressed, but until then I think I'll give the game a rest for a while.

Early Access Review
I had 860 days of offline progress, the game crashed when I opened it, I reopened the game and it all disappeared.

Dungeon Defenders was my favourite game at one point, but if all we can expect is lazy developments like this in the future, this is not something I want to support.

Takes ideas from other roguelike games and implements them in pretty poor ways. Talents are all just flat percent increases of various stats, including two identical talents except one is for ranged characters and the other is for melee. If a talent is useless half the time, it's a poorly designed talent. It would encourage changing talents around whenever you pick a different character (if you could even respec talents at all).

There's masteries for the characters which is basically play one character more and it levels up to get slightly stronger, which are for the most part just more percentage stat increases. There's little in the way of specialised increases for each character, and nothing really makes improving stand out at all.

The main thing that made me not want to support this game was seeing assets from purchasable asset packs within the game. You can do a contest with the top prize being $10000, but you can't draw stylised icons for abilities and instead use assets that even I own.

There might be some redeeming factors to this game if they figured out a way to implement the tower defence part of Dungeon Defenders into a roguelike, but instead towers simply disappear after a short amount of time, and you don't even really upgrade the towers just replace them with new ones you find.

There might be more identity to each run if for example you picked two towers at the start of a run and then picked up specific upgrades for those towers. As it stands now, each run is entirely based on the random stuff you pick up and there's nothing you can really do to change that.

This series has had many issues since even back when DD2 was in production. I remember the early MOBA game mode in DD2 and how bad of a decision that was. This just feels like that all over again, trying to take advantage of a popular genre and coming out much worse off from it.

Then there's also Eternity, which barely lasted at all. It's failure after failure, and as much as I like the premise of the games, I don't think I can support this company anymore. I tried Awakened, but the magic the series had for me seems to be confined entirely to DD1, and as much as I want that magic to return, it seems that won't be the case.

If you want to play a Dungeon Defenders game, stick to the first one. If you want a roguelike, there's many better out there.

Should also add that I paid extra when DD2 came out to get early access and the defence councillor title. I also paid extra when Awakened was announced to get early access and other benefits. I wanted nothing more than to support the creators of the original game, but it's sad to see how things turned out.

I replay the entire game every time a new DLC comes out. I haven't missed one yet, and I'm not going to miss the new one when it comes out.

P.S. If you ever need money in the game, make wine. It's been the best way every single time I played it.

Absoloutely love this game. Loved dark souls and this is basically more of that but with decapitation and weird techy things instead of magic.

People just seem to dislike this game because it is too much like the previous DD, I personally have enjoyed this game and the fresh restart means i can start again from the bottom after doing almost everything in DD. The only problem i have with the game is the connection and that it sometimes does make you jump back a bit or have enemies appear next to you but overall the new features are some good aditions to the game.
