As much fun as I have had in a game in a long long time.

The story is rich and enjoyable with characters you actually like and enjoy spending time with. It also gets better the further in to the game you go. The graphics are perfect for the game and fit so well. Cut scenes are done with care and attention and the art style is second to non. As good as anything I have seen in a long time. The settings are simply stunning with each biome standing out as different, which I think was a hard task all whilst being under the sea as it would have been very easy for it all to feel the same. The music is relaxing and enjoyable whilst also ramping up to atmospheric when the story needs it. The side games of running your restaurant and farm don't detract from the main story but emphasise it and I had as much fun often deciding what I would hunt that day to feed my customers that night as the actual diving and adventuring.
Controller support is excellent and the developers actually listened to the gamers and changed some of the button bashing in the earlier version of the game. Likewise the interface in the game such as the menus are so easy to navigate.

I'm not going to go down the route of look what a small developer can achieve when AAA studios have been putting out dross, (though its true), because I think its a cheap shot and does a disservice to what Mintrocket have achieved with this game on its own merits. Dave the Diver stands out as an outstanding game on its own rights. Easily as good as anyting that has been released this year. It's not the longest open ended game available but it all fits perfectly together. I for one am excited to see what the developer does both with this games updates and also any future projects they work on. In a world of politically charged games one that lets you simply enjoy it for what it is is very welcome. Do yourself a favour and pick this up. You absolutely won't regret is.

Some nights I love this game, some nights I hate this game. Coincidentally some nights I can't miss a shot and some nights my head is a huge balloon people enjoy popping. Regardless for over two years now I have been playing this game most nights. Maybe I am just a masochist but their is genuinely nothing else like it out there. Oh and the sound is awesome, far better than anything else available. Hit boxes less so, trades even less. I have recommended this because I want you all to suffer with me. Do yourself a favour and buy it....well unless you are Chinese or Russian and plan on playing on EU servers....then for the love of God please don't.

Great game to relax with friends and love ones in a chilled out environment and then laugh at, and mock them as their carefully planned shot goes astray and you take at unlikely lead due to a 14 shot penalty. I get to play as a golf ball in snorkel and jump around riding a rubber duck and avoiding the 'po po'...what's not to love about this fun game....

This game is great for just turning your brain off and slashing away at a few thousand rats for a few hours. It can become grindy at times and the loot role at the end of a mission can make you want to scream like a banshee but all in all a great game. Graphics are good, sound is fun and it does have plenty of replayability. Whilst you can play this game solo player with BOTS it does become repetative this way so please play with friend or like me meet new friends in game. Oh and do yourself a favour and get the quality of life mod.

A huge part of me want's to recommend this game, but I just can't bring myself to do so. Having over 1100 hrs it may seem strange that I'm not recommending this game but that's part of the problem. Having spent all that time in alpha and beta I expected their to be issues. These are things you have to accept with early access and I have spent many fun filled hours in this game. Everything in the game screams for you to enjoy it from the beautiful landscapes, the taming of dinosaurs and exploring of the world to find the perfect place to build your base. The modding community have only added to the game and there are many many great mods currently available. So why can't I recomment this game? Well various reasons. Firstly still after all this time the game is nowhere near optimised. Even on a super fast machine with lots of memory and a great graphics card the FPS can be terrible. The graphics are great but when you either have to run on terrible settings or wait for things to load in it looses so much of the wow factor. Secondly the community...yes I know I'm setting myself up for backlash but hey ho. Finding a server that isn't dominated by several toxic alpha tribes is hard. Yes its a PVP game and you can't control the game base but it seemed like for a long time every patch the developers have done has actually encouraged this style of play and level of toxicity. Alpha tribes moving from one server to the next dominating, destroying the player base of the server and moving on became a staple for the game for far to long. I feel like the developers really let the decent community down on this one and having played almost 1500hrs of Rust I know what a toxic community looks like. OK the final and most important reason I can't recommend this game. The developers decisions themselves. For a game that still has so many issues for them to sort out the developers appear to have taken the piss out of the consumer far too often. As I said as a gamer buying a alpha or beta product I expect issues in the game and thats why playing them is helping to give feedback so the developer can produce the game they want to bring you and the game you want to play. Likewise playing modded games you know you are taking the risk to the stability of your game. I have no problem with that at all. Getting 'The Center' was fantastic but I would have been happier if they had ironed out the bugs in the original map first. Getting a paid for DLC in 'Scorched Earth' maybe could have been reasoned as the developers claimed it was to enable them to invest the money back in to getting that final game we all wanted, a reason I never fully agreed with or brought as it did sting a bit of a being a cash grab and paid DLC on a game not completed just doesn't seem right. OK so the developers learnt their lesson and once again gave Ragnarok as a free DLC but then, and this is why I'm writing this review now after so long playing the game, they then hiked the price of the base game up to £50...I mean wt actual f. OK so some will say what do I care, I got the base game on sale for £10 years ago and maybe thats my reward for helping with alpha and beta. Fair point. But this review is for people thinking of buying the game now. So is the game worth £50....not by a long way. I would struggle justifying any game at a £50 price tag but no way could I recommend for someone to spend that money on a game that is still so far from a finished article. Optimisation issues asside, (which are great and many), the past record of the developers and the way they have so far progressed this game would make me reticent to where they are going. Yes it has so many things going for it, yes I have spent many happy hours in the game, yes it does look beautiful when looked on from the outside but no I don't have faith the developers will ever produce the final game I want to be playing and that is why I simply couldn't recommend to anyone to buy this game. As sad as that makes me feel to say so. To me the dlc's and new dinosaurs etc have become a way for the developers to try and distract us from the real issues of the game with new toys, maybe looking at these new toys transfixed whilst in a zombie like trance and saying 'shinny' is enough for some gamers. Me... I would have just been happy with a perfectly running, smooth base game. Even then £50...........really......really really? The latest DLC's have really added a lot to this game especially in regards to story mode. I still feel these DLC's are over priced for what they are though. Best to wait till a sale and pick them up in a bundle then.

The original Shogun game was my first taste of Total War and I remember being blown away by that at the time. Shogun 2 and it's add ons do not disappoint. A really epic game. Lots of great clans all with their own play style. For me shogun 2 is the best of the series. It takes the best elements from all the other games and polishes them up further. If your a fan of turn based strategy games this is the one to own.

70 hours in and I still feel I've only just scratched the surface. A really immense game in every sense of the word. Lots of fun with many ways to accomplish your end goal. The modding community have also really added to the depth of this game. I especially like the GoT ones and the 'Real World Maps'. Be warned though you will just 'pop on' for a quick few turns before bed and be surprised when the sun is rising when you look up again.

A great stealth game up there with the best. Very dark which only adds to the atmosphere of the game. Lots of replay value including different ways to do each mission with great side missions along the way. The redcent DLC is also great which has just added to the longevity of the game.

The hours I've spent on this game speak for themself. As close to perfection as you are likely to get in a game. Beautiful locations, great storyline, fantastic character development and the modding community have added a whole new dimension to a already superb game. Oh and if like me you haven't yet seen a real aurora borealis then this game provides you a good substitute. Do yourselves a favour and BUY IT.

Suggested by a friend as being relaxing to play I was originally dubious, however after spending many hours playing it I have to agree. Sometimes shooting a zombie in the head does make everything seem better. A FPS up there with the best.
