This game is one of the best 3D puzzle games I have played since Portal. It's simple and great fun, especially in the ability to compare your efficiency stats against the rest of the world. If you're engineering-minded at all I can't recommend it highly enough. It even includes a mildy amusing (if pointless) story too! Great fun, and still being actively added to by a rather amiable developer. The latest campaign gets really challenging too!

Nice to see the Early Access program working properly every once in a while.

I honestly do not understand the hype surrounding this game. I found it boring and confusing. Perhaps I didn't play it long enough, but I could barely play on as I had so little interest in doing so. Really feel like I must be missing something, but I cannot recommend it. Plus the dev is an absolute wanker.

My brother bought me this as a joke. I gave it a go as a joke. Suddenly I had hours sunk into it. No words can explain why this is a good game - gameplay is okay, graphics are mediocre. But just play it, it is addictive af. Highly recommended.

If this review is confusing, it's because I'm still pretty confused as to why I like the game so much.

This game is pretty damn awful. I played it because I'm a big fan of the series and wanted that little bit of extra story with a new character. Turns out even that was a mistake as well because they decided to stop the story on a giant cliffhanger halfway through, and as this "Part 1" game was such a flop, it'll never be resolved. As for the gameplay, it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mobile port, need I say more? Not *quite* as bad as I was expecting, but still awful. Aesthetics? Horrible.

Even fans of the series, avoid this one.

I bought Hot Pursuit having hot played any Need for Speed games in a good few years. So I briefly looked up which one seemed to be well reviewed of the recent games and purchased it. That's the last time I ever make that mistake. How this game ever got an 86/100 Metacritic score I will never know. Where are the car mods? Why are there just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ menus to select cars for each repetitive "mission" along repetitive bits of road? Free roam seems almost redundant too. On top of all that, all of the cars drive exactly the same. I get that NFS is supposed to be sort of unrealistic, but drifting round every corner like it's Mario Kart gets so damn boring!

Maybe this was my fault for not properly researching the game, but NFS seems to have lost everything that made it fun back in the days of Underground 2 and Most Wanted (the latter being one of my favourite games on PS2). Here's to hoping the new one brings it back.

(Also, ♥♥♥♥ off EA for ruining another cherished title from my childhood.)

So, this game has a bit of a feel of a "first game" from a studio. It has a great lore built from The Witcher books, and most of the gameplay and RPG elements are implemented really well (this coming from a relatively casual RPG player). However, aesthetically the game has not aged well. Textures are poor, there are about five NPC character models in the whole game, and there is loads of little glitchy ♥♥♥♥ that they really could have sorted out (e.g. weapons always clip through each other whilst running, simply due to their position).
But if you can see past this, there is a cool lore to explore, good use of choice, heaps of content and side quests too. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Worth a play through before moving on the the second game.

(The Enhanced Edition/Director's Cut "new adventures" content is worth ignoring though. Just user-made stories and two official quests that are fairly boring IMO.)

Awesome. A little on the short side for a so-called "RPG" (14 hours for me), but a totally reasonable length in actuality. Expect South Park humour and silliness, and references galore. It's hard to say if the game stands up to anyone unfamiliar with the series, but for fans it's an absolute must-play, and a gem of a title. Can't wait for The Fractured But Whole.

Not super long (19 hours or so for both stories for me, and I like to mess around in the sandbox), but both The Lost and The Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony capture the interest and humour that were so lacking in the main story. I would go so far as to recommend playing these episodes far more than playing Niko's story, which can be very slow at times. Surprisingly well optimised for a Rockstar game too.

GTA IV is as good as you'd expect from Rockstar, and actually runs pretty well on PC. The modding scene is quite fun as well (so I hear). However, I think the main story is rather weak in IV - Niko's story is neither gripping nor particularly humorous, and all too often you find yourself completing some menial mission task that is totally boring. Worth playing, but not the finest GTA out there, especially now V has made its way to PC.

Episodes from Liberty City (i.e. The Lost and The Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony) is much better, and if you're just wanting a quicker or funnier experience in Liberty City, I'd honestly priorities playing those two stories.

I recommend this only to Deus Ex lore or cyberpunk fans. This game turned a classic and nigh-on perfect PC RPG into something of a console abomination. I enjoyed the story, but the simplified controls and unrelenting loading screens really put a sour note on the game.

My recommendation is because I enjoyed it, but just be aware of what you're getting into. The lore and ending choices are still really great IMO.
