Once again, I wish there was a "meh" button or some kind of rating system.

It's another LEGO game. It would make a nice first game for first time players if you don't have any of the others, but wait for it to go on sale. If you already have more than a couple, save your money for one of the ones that are part of a series.

-----

The game would be better served by changing the name to PIXAR World and adding a couple more levels.

A large portion of your time is spent collecting items for mini-missions, just to get another PIXAR character to play.

Among them is Lightning McQueen from CARS, but he is utterly useless. There are no racing mini-games that don't involve jumps or tight spaces that he can't fit through.

-----

Strike one

The game starts with the beginning of the second movie. It would make a LOT more sense if it started with the first movie and let you play through both.

Strike two

Tt tries to justify the price by having lots of characters that are not needed and/or don't exist in the movies. What's the point of several civilians whose only ability is to be cannon fodder?

Strike three

Character selection is a pain in the rear. There are 6 variants of Mr Incredible and they are scattered all over the screen. LEGO Avengers did it right by having all of the Iron Man suits in one place, letting you scroll through them for the specific one you want/need.

Great little puzzle game, but not worth the money.

I'm all for supporting independent game makers, but there are many like it that are just as good for free online.

If you're a LEGO fan or a Jurassic World fan, you'll love the game.

Don't bother with the DLC - a couple extra vehicles and people, but no extra levels.

LEGO City Undercover is good at first, but getting even close to 100% quickly becomes a grind-fest. There is a "scanner" system available after completing a couple of story levels, but it has limited range. Some items can be located easily enough, but the path to get to them requires a trip to the internet to check a walkthrough. The near-infinite number of combinations of outfits and faces does not justify the high price.

Don't buy the game if you've already watched the movie. The ending of the movie ruins the enjoyability of the game.

If you've bought the game and the movie for a kid, have them play through the entire story before watching the movie. At that point it becomes fun to go on a hunt for all the extra funny items from the movie.

I haven't bought the DLC because it doesn't add another level like other games do, plus what comes in it can essentially be achieved with material already in the main game.

Once again, I wish there was a "meh" button or a rating instead of just "yes/no" on if you want to recommend a game.

Anyway...

Very nice idea very well implemented.
Simple controls that are very easy to learn.
Very high replayability.
Good price, even better when on sale.

One major negative: Naked people in the background and as the main boss.
Seriously?

I wish the "Do you recommend this game?" had a "Maybe" button.

It says "Partial Controller Support on the store page. I spent 15 minutes trying to get it to see my X-Box 360 controller. No luck. (All my other games see it just fine.)

My remaining 15-20 minutes on record was spent trying to get through the first level. The first level should have SOME forgiveness, instead of slamming you back to the entryway. I may have stood a chance if I had had a sheet of graph paper handy, but it was not meant to be.

I think I thought I was getting a DOOM / QUAKE kind of game. I'm not sure what I got, but wasn't that!

I haven't played very long, but so far I would describe this as more of an interactive comic book than a game.

Pros:
  • Wonderful music worth just sitting in one place to listen
  • Beautiful background
  • Good graphics and animation
  • Interesting weaponry
  • Subtitles for when there's too much noise

Cons:
  • Only one "path" to take (so far)
  • The combat gets a little repetitve
  • A little expensive (I managed to buy the game and soundtrack on sale for only $7.50)

If it's on sale again, BUY IT!!!
Or at least get the soundtrack so you have something to relax to.
