This is a bare bones wrestling sim. It's mostly text based. It focuses on the sport of Pro Wrestling, and the decision making by each wrestler in the matches. If you're looking for a button masher, or arcade style wrestling game, this isn't for you. I've been a fan of this series since Wrestling Spirit 2 about a decade ago. WS3 does more to explain the game than WS2. The enjoyment starts when you read why a move or reversal connected, or didn't. Think of this as a turn based fighting game with dice rolls. The game explains the dice rolls, and why they produced the results, after each move. This is a great learning tool. The game, and matches have a lot of depth. There are mods for the game, that import real world rosters, picture packs, and so on. One great mod I highly recommend is called Death of the Territories (D.O.T.T.). There is a level of enjoyment with this game. You get owned at first, but you learn each step along the way. You can pick your favorite wrestler, and learn how to use his/her moves in the career mode (tag or singles), in tournaments, or in 1 off exhibition matches. There are an insane amount of match types. Including match types I've never seen in any other wrestling games. Most of the match types allow you to have 1-5 wrestlers on each side. Pulling off moves in this game is very rewarding. Every style of pro wrestling is represented in this game. Lucha, Puro, hardcore, technical, amateur... Depending on which wrestlers and match types you use. If you use a real world mod pack, like the one I mentioned before, the wrestlers come with their real world stats. Your attributes, will allow you to be less skilled at the game, yet take less damage from attacks, and win more dice rolls, if you pick a more powerful wrestler like Vader. Male and female wrestlers can compete against each other. This was a genre I thought I'd hate until I tried it. A thumbs up from me. Give it a try, some of you will find a great wrestling game you play, and come back to for years to come. Others will be easily frustrated, and give up early, before they see fully how fun the game is.
