Came in with the worst expectations, the game's concept sounded ridiculous, esp having friends in the hater mob for the game, everything about it sounded like sth I'd hate, but the story sounded interesting so I said ♥♥♥♥ it and tried it out, by the end of the prologue I could just tell how this game was gonna be something so special. Proceed into a week of doing nothing but playing this, I have gotten every picto, every weapon, every skin, every collectible, killed every single enemy, the game is the closest anything has ever come to being an actual masterpiece, and its the game to dethrone ds1 as my favourite game of all time, I didnt think it was possible, but by god the french have COOKED, I thought I cried alot, 6 times is quite alot of crying, but the ending had me crying for 20 minutes straight, actually bawling my eyes out, theres not a more touching story that ive ever seen.

for those who come after etc etc tomorrow comes hop on we gotta take down the paintress fire emoji 100%

Perhaps my 2023 GOTY, as a big fan of all the kings field games, I've not played a game that gave me the sense of adventure and vague exploration that any of those games had till now, not only does Kira pull it off, but they take it to a level far beyond what any of the kings field games have in terms of gameplay and exploration (even tho the story is also phenomenally cool).

Some of negative reviews complaining about the story not being spoonfed when its literally the type of game where you have your story told through books you can read IF you want, secrets have them, normal progression has them, it isnt the game's fault to tell you everything nor is it trying to paint a full picture, alot of it is vague and its the same type of vagueness you'd have in a game like kings field where it simply tells you just enough to know who chars are. I was waiting to face the final boss throughout the entire game, and I ended up meeting or finding the fate of almost all chars that were mentioned within the lore, and it always excited me everytime I saw them. It's simply a treat for those who pay attention.

A minor complaint would be that its very harsh with some of the completionist things, but that's far from an issue imo cus they're def things you're meant to discover alongside others in a community and over a course of time (That being said I was thorough enough that I found almost everything in the game except for some enemy drop spells/weapons by just beating the game)

Its such a perfect mix of what made Kings Field's dungeon crawling so impeccable mixed with unique game design and ALOT of fun that's been had with awesome utility spells and inspiration from other games, secrets everywhere, so much to see and do in every single level no matter how large or small, hidden areas within hidden areas, so many unique spells, so many weapons to find and upgrade. The jump stat alone shows how fun it is to have that be a thing the player can control. Especially when you're able to scale areas you previously couldnt or make shortcuts where once you needed to go through lengthy paths, with a simple jump.

I would also like to note, that the ost cooked, very few tracks in this game felt out of place and almost all were fantastic in their own right, Forbidden Library, and the Forlorn Arena's tracks take the cake if you exclude Ending E's theme (what an incredible track my god).

I would say I hope that this puts more emphasis on why the dungeon crawler genre is amazing and should be explored in more depth by indie devs and studios, but I doubt that would happen anytime soon, Lunacid in the end despite all its merits, is largely niche and wont appeal to some people unfortunately, though despite that, the people it is targeted towards, will absolutely adore it. Finished in 2 days, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

Trust in Moonlight and give Lunacid a shot, perhaps you too could become the Dreamer <3

"its simply incredible, literally an almost perfect game, I just took down an entire battlefield's worth of soldiers by picking them off one by one through stealth and ranged weaponry, because rushing in would be suicide, there's so much thought put into it, the world has everything EVERYWHERE, it's not a open world in words only there's literally so much to do and the game is beyond well designed to make sure you can always have fun wherever you go, if you ever hit a roadblock, turn around and head somewhere else, it's superb.

I beat the first boss and he had me losing like 8 times till I managed to pull off the win, he's legit no joke and I say that as a veteran in souls games, it's super fun though, and I do have super high hopes for everything"

Wrote this when I was 16 hours in

I'm currently 49 hours in, this game is in my honest opinion, the best game of all time so far, the fact that it's an open world game that I'm looking forward to opening every day, and I am not getting bored of at all despite having no real objectives (trying to avoid main story stuff) still boggles me, I'm *still* barely finished and have 4 lords to take down, but the sheer amount of thought and genuine effort put into this game, really blows me away, they couldve just taken a safe route and made a simple open world game to test the waters, but as with Sekiro, from soft tests the waters by delivering goty material. This game is something else.

i wouldnt recommend this no, but I would, its a good game, just don't come in expecting a flawless experience, all souls games are flawed, this one the most flawed, but its also not a bad game, don't listen to people who would tell you otherwise.
