Such a beautiful and social game with building, crafting, and economics.

You have to pay to be your gender if female.

As someone who has not played a Dark Souls game I was very interested in what all the hype was about.

So I tried to play...

To find this "Game of the Year" has no widescreen support, capped frame rate at 60, no fov settings, and can't even rebind the map key...

After fixing these I get into the game and find almost no guidance. I have to have a friend show me around and apparently help me get another weapon just to start any semblance of the build I desire.

Speaking of "builds" they give no info on what stat buffs what on the weapon. Apparently Arcane affects Bleeding?.... What?....

The punishment for death seems to be running through a dungeon over and over just to attempt to fight a boss again. If you don't get to the same spot for whatever reason you lose all of the currency you haven't used to level up yet.

Additionally, the weapons I chose apparently are too weak to fight metal or crystal enemies, staggering me no matter what type of hit done, which forces a build change...

All this and I'm still not even sure what the point of the game is... I can not recommend this.

FOV is way too narrow. It's sickening and impossible to do combat if you are used to the normal FOV in other games.

Every game I've been in so far has been a stomp one way or the other.

It takes about 10 attempts to get into a game every single time.

I seem to be match made with experienced players even though there should be a influx of new players given the vtuber event.

My review has been changed to NO for only one reason. The game can drop you right next to other players which gets you killed almost instantly. It will remain this way until this issue is fixed.

Pros:
- Decent gun play.
- Stealth gameplay.
- Smooth animations.
- Clear objectives.
- Clear escape routes. (Tarkov >.>)
- Satisfying solo gameplay.
- Interesting loot system.

Cons:
- Invis jump cooldown? Jump doesn't always vault.
- No way to trade with friends/share loot if one dies.
- Timers on constructing stuff at HQ, skipable with the in-game currency. This isn't a mobile game...
- No way to remove random numbers from your name that I could find.
- Lacking cosmetic options for characters. Random rotation of items.

I see a lot of people disliking solo players having to go up against groups. Personally, I find group play much more difficult. Sound is vital in this game and having two people makes that much more difficult to manage. As a solo player I almost never die and kill quite often with the base gear (even if enemies have higher gear). It's easy to see duos dropping and avoid them if desired or stealthily kill them if you get the chance. I've never died to a duo in this game.

It's important to keep in mind this game isn't run and gun. If you run more than a little, you will most likely die. Running is very loud in this game. Basically marking you for death to anyone within 50m. Take it slow, be cautious, and be observant and you'll be set.
