This game is one of the addicting games that have grabbed me by the neck like crack does to a crack addict. Originally playing this game back in 2013 and returning in 2021 to play with some friends this game has sucked the joy and life out of me. And also has sucked out the money from my already small wallet, and money from my gracious friend who gifts me somethings from time to time. This game has no real goal for me besides click and get that dopamine release, I have played all types of vehicles in War Thunder and they play so well have such a unique experience. And that is what I believe the reason that War Thunder is on top of this type of genre/sub genre.
Ground/Air/Naval matches whether arcade, realistic, or simulator(Naval doesn't have a simulator battle) provides the player of whichever preference the ability to enjoy the game how they want, it isn't locked to one preference type of player but expands to grab most preferences of players that enjoy these types of games.
Although I am a premium vehicle and premium time user, I do see the flaws of a person trying to be a free to play player; the grind was not so bad just in January of 2021 but since then they have introduced silver lion and research reward nerfs that just don't make it anywhere easy for a garbage free to play player or maybe even an average free to play player to go through the tech tree to their goal. If you are a person that doesn't like or specifically doesn't pay for stuff in free-to-play games than this game is not it for you right now. I will certainly update this review if Gaijin/War thunder ever makes the ability to be free-to-play easier but for not I don't recommend it.
