I have been asked by Discord community manager Spitz to leave a negative review to voice my displeasure in being required to make a playstation account to continue enjoying Hell Divers 2. I will not be participating in this requirement and voicing my disappointed according to Sptiz' comment:

"-if it's a dealbreaker to have to take 120 seconds out of your day to enter an email and password and then forget about it, change your Steam review and make your displeasure known on a platform where it matters.'

-Review Update-

Sony has reversed the PSN requirement decision they've made. I have changed my review to positive to reflect my approval of this turn of events. Helldivers II has become a classic to join others like Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2. I look forward to having this game around for years to come.

This game was not good, and it made me sad.

First things first, I love this game. I've been playing it nonstop for the last few days. The gameplay, the atmosphere, it's almost perfect! Almost, however, is the keyword, and it is why I cannot recommend this game. My campaign is forever stuck at 81% complete due to a bug (One of many I've discovered while playing this game). For some reason, I was able to complete a primary objective before it was assigned to me and now my campaign will not progress further due to the game thinking I'm stuck on that one objective. (For reference, I was able to open the shutters on the spire before being given the prompt to do so). So can I recommend this game? As much as I'd like to, I'll have to say no. It's a shame, because without this essentially game-breaking bug I'd recommend it with the highest praise.

I never knew I liked this type of game until I played Stellaris. Now that I've played it, I feel like every game in this genre would fall short compared to what Paradox has created.

If I had an Empire Army for every hour I've spent playing this game, I would almost have enough armies to not get facerolled by wood elves on turn twenty.

Firing one of their most passionate and loyal devs for political views he held in his personal life is nothing less than unacceptable. In a world where 'free speech' is venerated, you'd think people would have thick enough skin to hear other people's opinions without taking such drastic and unjustified actions. It's for this reason I can't in good conscience recommend this game. Unless a full apology and compensation to the terminated dev is issued from Unknown Worlds, I can't see them staying a relevant company much longer.
