I can't express enough how much gratitude I have for this game, I have over 1,000's of hours on console since day one release back in 2006, this games soundtrack holds so many memories and nostalgia that got me through some hard times, it is insane, by far the best soundtrack in gaming history, Diablo's soundtrack is up there too, imo.

While Jeremy Soule was composing this soundtrack he had a serious car accident which made him think about life and how he would have to say goodbye to it all if he didn't survive. that experience affected his composition of the soundtrack, and it shows through his soulful, melancholic style, I STILL find myself turning off music in most games these days and listening to Oblivions soundtrack.

The voice acting and the many characters you encounter are extremely memorable,for e.g, Ma'aiq The Liar that can be found outside of Leyawiin or Anvil has become a running gag for years and has had appearances in Morrowind, Skyrim and ESO, The Adoring Fan that appears after you reach the rank of Grand Champion in the Arena. I can't count how many times I've killed him myself or watched youtube videos of him being killed in various ways off of Dive Rock, Last but not least Emperor Uriel Semptim VII that you see in the prologue voiced by Patrick Stewart or Picard for you trek fans, his story is told at the start of the game.

I recommend picking this up to experience the soundtrack while adventuring through the landscape albeit being dated, the gameplay and music is worth it, there's plenty of mods out there on the Nexus to improve gameplay and most notably an entire remake of Oblivion is being worked on in Skyrims engine called Skyblivion check out previews on Youtube from Rebelzize, he's the lead of the project and has been working on it since 2013.

Info on it: Skyblivion is a volunteer-based project by the TESRenewal modding group. they aim to bring the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to a new generation of gamers and re-introduce it to long time fans of the series. they are currently porting and rebuilding Cyrodiil along with all of its quests, locations and characters into Skyrim and Skyrim: Special Edition. on release, the mod will be completely modular which means that you will be able to choose what components you want to have installed, but in order to play, you'll need to own both Skyrim and Oblivion including ​the DLC, so pick up Oblivion GOTY and Skyrim Special Edition now or wait for a sale, up to you!
