Not for the faint of heart! This game is brutal, difficult, and often unfair... such is the life of a small prey animal. However, it can be very rewarding to find your gameplay skill steadily improving, as once-daunting predators become easily manageable obstacles.

The Wiki will be your best friend when playing this game, though! There are lots of elements that are never outright explained, that you'll wish the game had told you. This problem is mitigated somewhat by the tips added in Downpour, but it doesn't cover everything.

As a sidenote: I also think the art and music are really nice. It's good to appreciate the scenery when you're not running for your life.

As another sidenote: If you like the base game, Downpour is a must-have! It expands the map, adds more story campaigns, and gives the option for multiplayer.

Good fun, but Oh Lord is it buggy.
When I played Spore as a kid, I would remember the game gradually losing stability, often loading creatures without textures and crashing frequently. But, it was still fun to create your own little aliens and take over the universe (even if the Space Stage got kind of tedious at times).
I'd like to see what a current developer could do with Spore if they were given the license to make a sequel.

I love this game! It has beautiful art, wonderfully tight controls, and excellent music. The game is challenging, but the boss fights are fair and easy to learn. Platforming is key in certain areas, and honing your ability to cross difficult terrain takes lots of practice, so this game may be frustrating to those who struggle with that. However, I think it feels very rewarding to realize that I've mastered certain areas.

The fact that this game was made by so few people honestly amazes me. Can't wait for Silksong

Excellent game! Engaging story and atmosphere even for people not into deck-builders, with a little bit of ARG mystery sprinkled in. Plus once you've beaten Inscryption, there's a challenging expansion out now for those who couldn't get enough of Act 1 (like me).

Inscryption is best experienced blind, but I was convinced to buy the game after watching an episode of a let's-play by Markiplier.
