Pretty fair Boss rush game, the controls are very easy to pick up and semplicistics especially with a controller.
It's clearly a student project so don't expect the new Dark Souls (you can finish it in about a hour) but it has some good potential, the heat mechanic of the sword is innovative, satisfying to use and rewarding as it grants more damage, staggers and lifesteal at max capacity, so you are incentivated to play aggressively and parrying at the right moment.
I don't mind the story as it reminds me of old Ps1 games the way it's narrated with slides and voice in the backrground, i think it has a charm to it.
The combat is clonky at times as it's very hard to chain light attack with heavy so you will mostly spam light attacks and use the heavy just to break the guard of the enemy as it has a long animation.
The bosses are a bit repetitive to fight as they have little variety in their attacks but you can melt through the various phases if you keep your heat meter up as it's the whole gimmick of the whole game.
The last boss was my favorite as it had more variety to her attacks.
The enviroment is okay, mainly mountains and a small manor, it's what you expect; nothing more nothing less.
The map is pretty straight forward, you can't go out of bounds and there are no game breaking glitch or bugs.
Give it a try, the game has potential and it's free.
