Review:

Graphics and Atmosphere: Once Human is a visually stunning game with breathtaking graphics that immerse you in its post-apocalyptic world. The game's atmosphere is nothing short of amazing, with SCP-style bosses and enemy designs that add a unique and thrilling element to the gameplay.

Character Customization: The character customization is fantastic, allowing you to create a character that looks exactly the way you want. The variety of options available enables you to design multi-racial characters and characters from all backgrounds, making the game more personalized. I was able to make a beautiful character who looks to be half asian-american, though my partner was able to make a character who looks to be germanic/european.

Gunplay and Combat: The gunplay is top-notch, offering a satisfying and responsive experience that keeps you engaged in every firefight. The Devation Pet System is another highlight, allowing you to have pets that assist you in combat and help gather and produce resources for your base. These pets add a unique and strategic element to the gameplay, making your survival journey even more engaging.

Building System: The building system is well-designed and intuitive, allowing you to construct and customize your base with ease. You can recycle rainwater to power your bathtub, which is a surprising feature above and beyond the standard purifying rainwater to drink. The game also offers several styles of power generation and fully animated objects such as the bathtub, the bed, and even mixing a drink at your bar.

Customer-Friendly Systems: One of the standout features is the customer-friendly game systems, such as the ability to build and pull resources directly from your storage, saving you time and enhancing the overall gameplay experience. Additionally, the game includes fast travel warp points that you can move in the world via 'camps,' allowing you to quickly travel to and from spots where a teleport tower is not located saving countless hours of backtracking you'd have to make in similar types of games.

Gear Upgrading and Inventory Management: The game also boasts a robust gear upgrading system, allowing you to enhance your equipment and stay competitive. Disassembling old gear for resources is a breeze, making inventory management efficient and rewarding.

Vehicle System: The vehicle system has seen massive improvements, with enhanced handling and responsiveness that make driving a pleasure. Upgrades to vehicles add another layer of customization and strategy, ensuring that your rides are as efficient and powerful as possible.

Voice Acting and Story: While the voice acting is mediocre and the story is serviceable, the game's atmosphere and unique elements more than make up for these shortcomings.

Content and Updates: With new seasons and free expansion content regularly added, there's always something fresh to look forward to.

In-Game Store: The only downside is the in-game store, which can be quite expensive. However, it's worth noting that the store is purely cosmetic, so it doesn't impact gameplay or give paying players an unfair advantage.

Conclusion: Highly recommended for fans of survival and shooter games, especially those who enjoy the survival horror / SCP genre!
