It took an almost embarrassingly long time for this game and its main premise to click with me. I started it in January, walked away for a bit, and just now got around to finishing it over about a month. There were moments in my revisit that I was worried I just didn't like this game, which would have been disappointing as a huge fan of Arkane's games. I started paying attention to the menus, journal, and what the game was trying to communicate with the loop premise. Ultimately, it clicked. The way this game unfolds, finding the optimal path to breaking the loop, is incredibly satisfying in a unique way. You discover more about the world and store little bits of information in your brain. It feels like a huge accomplishment to complete pieces of the puzzle, and making you do work inside your head is one of the best things about Arkane games. They are all incredibly rewarding, and this one is no exception. Even though it is laid out and tracked in a menu, you feel like a genius for finding out all the best ways to take care of the Visionaries. This is an absolutely top-tier video game experience, crafted expertly by one of the greatest teams to ever do it.

An outstanding experience. Not simply just "Half-Life 2 in VR", but a borderline complete reimagining of the original game to take advantage of VR hardware. It really feels like playing it for the first time all over again. Every time a new mechanic is introduced (grenades, new guns, the airboat & its gun) it makes complete sense for the context of VR. (I haven't even gotten to the Gravity Gun yet - looking forward to it!)

TranStar VR is very neat and a great way to visit some environments from Prey in VR. The graphics are fantastic and the puzzles, while simple, are fun, and I like how they incorporated elements of the full game into the gameplay of the VR escape rooms. Sadly it's over too soon, and it just makes me want the full main game to be fully playable in VR. Hopefully we get that someday.

I wish I could give this a neutral review. It's a very cool idea, seeing Deus Ex MD locations is neat, but it's very short and only marginally cool. Hearing the music of the game is a great touch, and the sense of ambiance is there, but the overall presentation and sense of presence is poor. You just kinda feel like you're waiting in line for a Deus Ex amusement park ride. I would love for the next Deus Ex game to have VR support, this doesn't quite stick the landing even as a short "Experience"

By far the best VR game there is, a defining game for the VR platform that will be copied and required for years to come. Completely groundbreaking and a high standard for all future VR games to live up to, quite possibly one of the best games of all time (we'll see!)

Simply beautiful. Emotional, friendly, and inviting. You will think of yourself and your fellow human being in a whole new light. An experience unlike any other.
