I only this year played the original Hades, but that game was truly magical in a way that is rare in many games nowadays. Buying this game I expected for it to be merely a fair attempt to recapture the experience of the original, but I’ve been blown away by Hades once again. The new mechanics manage to stay true to the original while reinventing them in a way that is both new and enjoyable. Both the combat system and weapons are familiar enough to the original that you need to relearn how to fight, but it is at the same time new enough that it feels fresh and exciting. If you were a fan of the original, you’ll be a fan of Hades 2, and I highly recommend the purchase.
