I'm enjoying the actual DLC, I don't really see the balancing issue others are talking about, it feels pretty well scaled for post-mohg characters.

I'm still leaving a negative because I personally stutter fairly often during bosses, and my friend straight up can't play the game with how bad the stuttering is. I'll leave a positive when or if they fix this soon. If a hotfix isn't released in a few days, or isn't released at all, I'm leaving this as is.

I really want to recommend the dlc too, it's really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome. The dancing lion, rellana, and messmer have all been great bosses and I'm looking forward to the rest, the environment feels amazing to navigate, enemies are super unique, the soundtrack is amazing, and almost every new weapon and spell kicks ass and looks cool. I want to say this is worth the money, but with how terrible the performance is right now I just can't say you should buy it.

Cool aesthetics and I really, really love the visuals, I honestly wanted to like this after seeing the previews on the store page, but it's hard to give a positive review sadly. Too many technical issues, the puzzles were otherwise pretty easy apart from the final one requiring you to get 4 codes in which the graphics got too ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for me to actually see the breakable door where you could get one of the codes, and I personally found the writing kind of predictable, which is kind of a big deal when you're doing atmospheric horror.

The concept is super awesome and I'm looking forward to playing more of enigma's games, but so far this one was kind of lame. I feel like with the concept of "exploring a corrupt AI's mind, you could've fleshed it out better and been a bit more subtle.

If you liked the first fear and hunger, first what is wrong with you, second same brother, third you should abso-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-lutely pick this up.

It takes just about most of the good aspects of fear and hunger 1 and builds off of them, making an arguably even more punishing but slightly more fair experience. It's a much longer gauntlet than 1 and will ask of even more planning and trial and error from you, but it also removes some of the more punishing aspects of 1 like coin tosses being tied to saves and a lot of your better offensive skills/weapons/spells being tied to rng.

In terms of atmosphere and worldbuilding it's easily tied with the first as well, I think the soundtrack is hands down better than the first, it builds up tension so well it's actually insane, I still have the rher apartments theme blaring in my head as I'm typing this.

Absolute must buy if you're into survival horror IMO.

Personally as a semi-long term street fighter fanatic, I think the general gameplay of this game is enough to offset the issues and give a positive review, but the monetization in this game is so bad I really do wish there was a "mixed" option. Regardless, here's my personal views on what makes this game great and what might be a hard sell.

Pros:

-Really creative and fun meter system, resource management is genuinely pretty fun in SF6 since you're constantly thinking ahead of when you might need to conserve your drive gauge to survive on defense while also trying to use it as much as possible to maximize your damage and corner carry.

-Better whiff punishing and neutral than SFV which felt slow and clunky. Drive rush, although a bit too strong on certain characters right now, at least adds some interesting approach options for certain characters that have to use it creatively like gief.

-Banger netcode, gone are the days of brazilian wifi kens being literally impossible to play against

-Actually fun story mode, world tour mode is a step in the right direction for singleplayer content in fighting games even if it needs tweaks

-Good accessibility options for newcomers, like modern controls and 3 frames of input buffering on links

-OST slaps (fight me)

Cons:

-Monetization is beyond predatory, and if you're even thinking of buying outfits in this game or don't like the default character designs, be warned. Skins are 6 dollars per character, and you can't even pay 6 dollars for the one character you like, since SF6 uses in-game currency. You can either buy 2 4.99 packages to afford 1 skin, or pay 11.99 for 2 skins. It's extremely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and is, unfortunately, par for the course with capcom.

-SF6 follows the usual fighting game trend where every character ♥♥♥♥♥ out damage and any game can end off 2-3 interactions. I get some people like this but for a boomer like me who prefers longer matches I do wish character damage was scaled back at least a bit.

-The UI is actually ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. You have a serious problem when dark souls PtDE has easier to navigate menus than your modern AAA game. Nested menus in nested menus in nested menus. As a fullstack developer this game's UI gives me conniptions.

-Q isn't in the game yet

What AAA survival horror should be nowadays, but isn't. I really wish this game got more traction early on in its lifespan, it would've been such a great way to set standards for the genre if it got the same popularity as SH2 or dead space.

This game is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sick, if you're big into junji ito you'll absolutely love this game, it's still getting updates to this day and there's an absolutely absurd amount of content for the pricetag, the replayability of this game is off the charts. Absolute must buy IMO.

It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ perfect survival horror game in just about every aspect to me. The big issue is the freezing, which has a hilariously easy fix. Just make sure to change "if (this._skipCount === 0) {" to "if (this._skipCount <= 0) {", because otherwise the game freezes randomly, which is a pain in the ass in a game where you can lose hours of progress at a time. It's honestly not enough to make me thumbs down the game because it is a fun experience and it's just genuinely so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun to discover all the weird ♥♥♥♥ floating around, but it should also have been patched out already and I'm a little baffled why it hasn't been fixed already. Still, fun game. If eyepatch wolf's video resonated with you, you'll like this game I swear.

On the other hand you can't date crow mauler in dungeon nights so actually 0/10

A good walking simulator should, in my eyes, embrace not just the aspects of what makes a game a game, but also other creative mediums like books and movies. It should create this vivid, beautiful landscapes for your eyes to feast on and explore with an interesting story, while also giving you the imaginative process of visualizing words that you get when reading, letting you explore and understand the world around you, all mixed in with the interactivity provided by your controller. Stray does exactly this, in so many different ways. Stray throws out most conventional game design philosophies and puts its full effort into delivering a captivating visual and emotional experience. If you have the money, I seriously recommend you buy stray, however I understand the investment is big for the playtime.
