There is COD and there is this god dang masterpiece of game design. To this day I would consider ARMA 3 the pinnacle of realistic shooters but let me ellaborate on that :

Pros :

+ sandbox style editor for missions
+ many default gamemodes that are fun
+ ok grafics
+ good sound desgin and Atmosphere
+ vast maps
+ incedible arsenal of weapons and vehicles
+ modding
+ community - chill people in every game

Cons :

- expensive DLC´s (buy when on sale)
- very CPU intensive
- complicated contols (it takes you a few hours to undestand whats going on)

Overall I would reccomend the game if you are into realistic shooters 9/10
