Update: The Over-Achiever Update made this game perfect!

Sparedevil is a arcade-styled FPS where your goal is to rack up a high score by defeating enemies in a small arena. It will start off easy, having just a set of pins spawn every so often, but later on will progress to get harder and harder by introducing more and more enemies. In the late game, it will become a complete cluster and it feels like more of a game of survival than bowling.

They did a fantastic job with how the "gunplay" feels. It feels smooth and shooting your ball feels almost perfect. It just feels so satisfying hitting strikes and landing a well placed shot. It also helps that your ball will sometimes ricochet towards other enemies. I love the feeling of shooting my ball, hitting a mortar, and it ricochets towards the other ones nearby. The biggest difference between the demo and the main game is that now you are no longer on a timer, which feels a lot less stressful in a already stressful game.

The graphics also look nice too. They really nailed the aesthetic of a old-school 3D shooter. The atmosphere feels a little dark while setting you in a greek styled arena, which makes you feel like a gladiator in a bowling ally. I also really love the sound design, the music is nice and the sound effects feel really satisfying when you get a A or S rank.

They recently updated the game to add achievements and a way to unlock cosmetics for the game. Each ball/pattern/effect has a certain goal you need to reach in order to unlock it. This gives the game a lot more replay-ability. Giving you more than just "reach the high score" as a goal. Really nice step in the right direction with the game and really I can't wait to see what they add next.

Honestly the only thing I'd love to see in the future is more arenas to play in, but really, this game feels so perfect now.

If you love the demo, buy the game, it's 100% worth your money. These arcade style games are kinda rare nowadays, and it is nice to see games like this pop up again in a market flooded with open world and cinematic games.
