An amazing sequel to one of my favourite VR games of all time. I Expect You To Die 2 improves upon the already brilliant formulae of the original with a new polish in the form of better graphics, a full story on release as well as new and exciting puzzles and mechanics for the play to solve.

Positives:

-Very fun
-Mechanics feel smooth
-Puzzles are relatively simple but make you feel like a genius when solving them

As for negatives the only thing I don't like about it is that there won't be any episodes added to it like the first game, making it longer on release than the original game but less episodes overall. Hopefully IEYTD gets frequent enough releases to keep us all entertained.

Ok so this is definitely the start of a great game. As it stands there is only one adventure with 1-2 hours of gameplay but you can play through that 4 times with each of the unique classes which stretches that to a slightly better amount of extra gameplay. That time is thoroughly enjoyable though because the only major problem with this game is its lack of content which is a good problem to have assuming they add levels and mechanics at a good pace.

In my opinion this is an early access game, as it stands its a very simplistic and short game as you can move, attack and use ability cards. Theres no armor, weapons, or even character levels. The ability cards are cool and all but there really aren't that many to spice the game up.

What I'm seeing is a strong foundation of a game that if added to regularly could become the Beat Saber of tabletop games for VR. I definitely recommend picking up this game to both enjoy it for yourself now and encourage the devs to add more quickly.

There isnt really anything I can say that hasn't been said thousands of times before, this is the best VR game you can play and will keep that crown for the foreseeable future.

Ok so I really wanted this game to be good but unfortunately fell short it almost every category I could think of. First of all I do want to thank Servios for making this game in the first place, I may not agree with a lot of their design choices but It is still neat to see our favourite walking dead characters brought to life in VR.

1) The first major issue for me is the combat, the walkers seem to have very little presence and it honestly feels like I'm fighting paper enemies with how lazily I can stab my knife around and bop dozens of walkers without raising my heart beat even slightly. Melee weapons are just ridiculously strong compared to fire arms, 3 headshots with a pistol? Who signed off on that? Reloading is also automated to the point where the mags eject themselves and you hover your hand over your belt to pick up ammo and then to your gun to watch an animation play out of you loading the pistol and the gun cocking itself which is so immersion breaking. There are also no human enemies in this game which honestly signalled the beginning of the end for me, TWD haven't focused on walkers since season 2. Season 3 and beyond have been about how humans are the true threat and even though the human AI sucked in S&S I much prefer that to nothing at all

2) The second issue is the lack of content, similar to saints and sinners you have story missions and the option to weave supply runs in between. I haven't played enough to see the whole story but after 40 minutes of playing I just didn't have the heart to keep playing because I knew after chapter 1 and the first supply mission I had experienced 90% of the game.

3) The last issue is what the game 'tries to be' and what it ends up being. The game was advertised very similarly to Saints and Sinners in that its a walking dead game where you collect resources while progressing through a story but Onslaught ends up being much more of an arcade shooter than anything else. Running from the wall of walkers during the supply runs feels very uninspired even though it's very similar to the herd mechanic in S&S. I thought S&S felt cramped until I played this and I understand why multiplayer was cut, fitting up to 4 people on those tiny maps would be near impossible without no player clipping.

In conclusion I feel like the IP was wasted on a game like this. Without multiplayer it opens up Onslaught to more direct comparisons with S&S and they are not flattering. With S&S outshining Onslaught in almost every category I cannot recommend this game until these issues are worked out because in the games current state I'm considering a refund.

Slime Rancher: VR Playground.

A great first step.

This playground dlc is exactly that, a playground, there are 4 areas of which are similar to the slime science lab, the dry reef, the moss blanket and the ancient ruins. The slimes i saw in my 'playthrough' were pink, phosphor, rock, quantum, rad and tabby slimes. There were some chickens too.

I was very excited for this dlc as I've always loved slime rancher but I should have been more wary of the word 'playground' You start in the slime science room with some panels that give very brief instructions on movement and controls. However I was on Oculus rift and it was giving me instructions for the Vive so I'm not sure if it was a bug or they just don't have those instructions yet. Anyway there are 3 teleporters in the slime science room each to the other zones. Theses zones can also be accessed by the menu.

The problem is that the only content I could find was slime basket ball. Other than maybe making some largos there isnt really much to do. However I think of this as a slimerancher 0.1, it's definatly a great start for sure BUT the movement could definatly use a joystick option. I assume that this was built for the vive in mind over the oculus touch controllers so making use of the joysticks wasn't a priorty in the first version but hopefully in the future it will be available. As well as a way to turn your character without turning around (second joystick).

At the end of the day I did have some fun playing around with my slimes in VR and this is a good first step. I hope enough people play this demo to encourage the devs to work on this and take it as far as they can. Because I'm certain if this was a full game I'd happily drop 100's on it, that might be just be as a hardcore rancher... but I'm certain if this port gets content it would easily reach platinum tier on the VR list as we don't have any farming or ranching games for VR yet LET ALONE ONE AS ADORABLE AS SLIME RANCHER... anyway I say once more that this is a great first step and I CANNOT wait to see where this goes,

Early Access Review
I bought this game last year and haven't started playing until yesterday because I didn't just buy it for myself I bought a second copy for a friend which I planned on exploring this, gem of a survival game that I found within the huge mess of pop up companies trying to hit the lottery with their games, with that friend. There is so much tripe when it comes to survival games, I've tried a lot of them pretty much everything from the forest to rust to ark. I had actually found a brilliant survival game that was 1. Visually stunning to the point where it actually feels real to an extent, 2. An actually difficult environment to survive in because games like rust, minecraft and the forest its so easy to play that its not even remotely exciting. 3. Amazing ambient sounds that actually scare the living daylights out of you, this game is easily the best survival game I've ever played and a part of that is because of the scary as hell sounds all around you that are guarenteed to have you checking your back every 2 seconds.

And I planned on experiencing all this with just one friend because thats what me and him do, constantly look for absolute treasures of video games because of all the terrible ones available through steam (Seriously don't waste your money like I have been for the past few years.) these are very hard to find and have an insanely fun time with my friend. And when I heard there isn't going to be multiplayer after the devs explicitly said that there will be after 1.0 I instantly bought it for both me and my friend and we have been waiting ever since. Now to find out that there just won't be I'm extremely disappointed.

I don't want servers to house thousands of people like they have in other games. All I want is a cap of 4 to play on one world with me so I can share this nearly perfect game with my friends so we can collectively soil ourselves when our base is under attack from some giant tentacled behemoth from the deep. Sure an argument can be made that subnautica's edge would be taken away with having company at all times and I agree the game would feel fundamentally different with another player with you but It wouldn't be for the worse. With losing the edge that comes from feeling alone and stranded you would gain the absolute crazy banter opportunities that co-op survival games can give. My best video game memories are from messing around with my friends doing insane things and sometimes sabotaging one another just for laughs.

After 3 paragraphs of rambling I hope my point has come across that without the option for co-op this game is pretty much dead for me as the only reason it was really alive was because the prospect of this gem of a game having co-op was still alive at that point. I can't share this game with other people and because of that It almost makes me want my money back, almost but I still enjoyed the couple hours I played. If you are a lone wolf or just really enjoy single players survival games THIS is the game for you. But If you are a social gamer like me and want nothing more than to share the amazing worlds cooked up for you by devs then I'm sorry but this game Isn't gonna support you.
