One Step From Eden is a fast pasted game which incorporates elements from Megaman Battle network with Rouge-lite elements. The game has a learning curve which isnt explained well however its easy to pick up on. Once you learn the characters, synergies and focus schools the game is quite rewarding. This game is easily one of the top sleeper games that I didnt get much press this year. With future support from the devs and mod support this game is a must buy in my opinion.

This game scratches that nostalgia itch because I use to play these games as a kid. I would recommend this game but not in its current state there are a couple bugs in this collection which bricks the game. Every time that I want to play this game I need to move my save and configuration out of their respective folders boot the game up and the add them again which is annoying. If I didn't figure out this fix then the game would be entirely unplayable.

Amazing Game!
it has the atmosphere, puzzles, melee combat mechanics, horror, and internal psychological conflict as its central theme. Definitely worth a play. All of the puzzle areas and bosses all felt unique and had interesting designs and themes.Only negatives were that the combat was pretty easy even on the hardest difficulty. Some of the runes were pretty difficult to find and some of the timed pathing simply got annoying after a while. Also the hard reset mechanic while it adds some tension to gameplay hurts the game in someways. There is no chapter selection anywhere in the menu so it makes it difficult if you want to replay a boss for example. Also the game doesn't tell you this, If you beat the game there is no continue option, you are forced to start from a new save. In my case I got to the end of the game and missed one lorestone somewhere in a middle chapter 43/44. After beating the game this meant that I have to replay the game in its entirety while trying not to miss any stones. This ends up hurting the replayability of the game quite a bit.

Awesome new chapter for DBD. The new killer adds a new gameplay mechanic which makes DBD feel fresh again. As long as the killer doesnt recieve the same treatment as Freddy (New players not understanding the mechanics of the killer, while screaming for the killer to be nerfed day 1 without learning the counterplay). The survivor perks feel a little weak this time around, however I can recommend picking up this chapter. You might want to wait to see the killers standing within the game (balance perks etc) a few weeks from now before you pick up this chapter.

• What is Dead by Daylight? *Updated 12/24/2016* edits * *
o DBD is Horror game focusing on 1 v 4 asymmetrical gameplay Killer vs Survivors. While most horror games today focus too much of its scare factor on jump scares to accomplish its task DBD takes another approach gradually increasing tension. The tension brought on by the sense of your impending demise and the heart beat building intensity, or for killers the sound of completed generators which signals that the amount of time you have left to sacrifice the survivors is almost up. Or sneaky survivors which you have a hard time tracking down. DBD puts 4 survivors against a killer who must repair five generators and work as a team before they scarified by meat hook to the entity.

• The Good:
o I love this game, and would recommend you to give it a try.
o Randomly generated maps and layout
o As of 9/28/16 the game IS NOT a jam packed DLC cash cow with micro transactions *Every DLC except for the nurse you would have to pay for*
o Feeling of a 80s horror movie where at any moment the killer could be right over your shoulder.
o The soundtrack and heartbeats as the killer grows nearer always puts you at a state of unease and is spot on (even with ~200 hours in it still feels uneasy) *survivors are no longer scared of the killer bc of their perks*
o Even though Evolve (Original Not Stage 2) and this game focus on asymmetrical gameplay do not compare them; that would not be doing this game justice.
o The problem of unbalanced matchmaking *hasnt been fixed*
o Fairly low $20 price tag
o Devs seem very passionate about their project so the game should have frequent updates, support, and future content.

• The Bad:
o The Bugs: At launch the game was very buggy but with frequent updates the game feels a bit smoother, but you will encounter some bugs, like all games. *Still many bugs months later*
o The game favors survivors most killers are no longer viable against survivor perks and try hard survive with friends*
o Infinites and campers *the problem now is survivors the meta builds desisive strike / self care / adrenaline / sabotage* makes most veteran survivors unkillable*
o Unsure of the Devs direction on future DLC plans *all payed*
o Getting out of rank 20 hell (~ 16 – 20) can be a nightmare bc of inexperienced survivors
o Laggy killers need for dedicated servers *still*
 Simply type 1 repeatedly in the lobby chat to test for lag.
o Every perk on both sides should feel as a viable option to match a certain playstyle but this is not the case, some perks such as iron grasps on the killer side are absolutely mandatory while others are a waste of a slot
o A few killers use macro bots (depending on your outlook can be a hindrance or a quick way to farm points for both parties).
o Would like to see more emotes or proxy voice communication (restricted to a limited distance for survivors)
o Would like to see an additional game mode / focus on completing a different randomly decided objective rather than generators every game.

• Final Thoughts:
o Don’t let the number of problems that I brought up dissuade you from purchasing the game. The game is amazing and the unique dynamic between killer vs survivors and an altruistic team focused survivor group vs a selfish group that views itself as individuals that hasn’t been matched in any game that I have seen. You can read all the reviews on steam, but until you play it you will never know if a game is right for you. The game does have a few problems but what game doesn’t these days. Once a problem is found the devs usually get taken care of in a timely manner. I would like to see more item diversity on the survivor’s side. As of today I would rate DBD an 8/10 it has a few problems but does several new things for gaming and does them quite well.

• TIPS: Your focus while playing shouldn’t be to kill everyone or simply survive you must entertain the ominous prescience known as the entity in several ways if you wish to rank up, completing objectives surviving, helping teammates etc. If you face camp survivors on the hook not only does it take away from the overall fun for survivors, but you don’t get nearly as many points for chasing the survivors usually results in a derank.
• Learn how to hide, and remain calm, the killer can only see your tracks when you run so use this to your advantage.
• Repairing the generators to 99% and not completing it is a strong option for survivors, killers have more generators to patrol meaning that they are less likely to find you.
• Survivors can now crouch past and crouch next to crows without setting them off. This is a new hiding option for survivors that is quite effective, most killers even the more experienced ones will look for alerted crows to see if a survivor has been in the area and will not walk near them in fear of setting them off themselves.
• At the start of the trail look for a hook first, each killer has their own hook allowing you to identify the killer and lets you prepare a strategy against that killer, also watch you should watch out for.
. Killers also have their own distinct sound grunts, chainsaw, bells, claps of a trap, shrieks etcs to let you know which killer it is.
• Also at the start of the trail try to get a sense of where the killer is before starting a gen, a generator with little to no progress is often an indicator that a survivor is near.
• Learn how to do the quick time skill checks and master getting great skill checks.
o Failing the skill checks not only slows down the time it takes for healing sabotaging a repairing but it also alerts the killer to you location which could compromise a whole team.
• If you are on the fence about purchasing the game I would say go ahead and try it out. I hope the tips that I provided will allow you to get out of survivor hell and rank high in no time.

Up-to-Date Review (2.4k Hrs in Game)

Awesome F2Play:
Pros:
- Frequent Updates (Weekly or Biweekly)
- Amazing Devs
- Graphics
- Great, Friendly & Helpful Community
- All weapons and Warframes in the Game are obtainable without buying platinum (real world money)
- Only thing you have to buy is cosmedics which has no impact on actual performance
- Edit: ^ Trading system allows you to trade in game items for platinum so you can buy these cosmedics.
- Update 18 is on the horrizon get started soon!!!!

Cons:
- Some of the old events tell the story of the game
- Farming for illusive prime parts can lead to burnout (but you have a stockpile of traded platinum so your good)
- Not a super strong late game.

I have played for 2k+ hrs (almost 3 years) I have almost all the weapons and warframes and most of the cosmedics in the game. I have purchased platinum to support the devs, but I never had to spend it only weapons or warframes. The frequent updates, events, tactical alerts, and new weapons keeps me coming back to the game. Be willing to adapt because their are frequent changes to the game as the DEVs try to make it better.

Must play Free to Play

Amazing Game with too Many Problems?
Up To Date Review
Most of the Negative Reviews are from people mad about the DLC and marketing strategy Prior to release

Loved the Beta of this game but the initial DLC ($100) and multiple DLC Bundles turned me off at first, but I found a site that sold the monster race edition for 70USD and was the main reason I picked this game up. Now to the Pros and Cons.

WATCH THIS VIDEO IT SUMS UP EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE BUYING THIS GAME
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFSpDjRMC8s

Pros:
  • Graphics
  • Gameplay / Mechanics
  • Unique Hunters, Monsters and Skills
  • Synergy between hunters
  • A New Multiplayer Experience (1 VS 4)
  • Occasional Great Match (That only really occurs when there’s communication, playing with friends)
  • The initial Awe when first playing the game.

    Cons:
  • Game Quickly Gets Repetitive
  • There is essentially only one Mode (Hunt) which can be played Online with Randoms
  • The game has an arena mode but good luck finding a match
  • DLC, DLC, DLC (So Many Editions, Bundles and skins)
  • Not including showing new DLC for the Season 2 Pass, but saying the new content would be released 8 months later
  • Graphics Bugs and Glitches (Flying, Monster Getting Stuck, Disco Party Lights that endues seizures, Falling through the Map, Daisy Getting Stuck, 2 Monsters or 2 of the same hunter …. and the list goes on.
  • The Length of time it takes for the team to balance new content
  • Weak servers
  • Small Player Base (Highest is about 500)
  • The Player base is so small that the players are no longer able to successfully compete in the weekend hunter challenges.
  • Limited Player Progression (In which most people farm offline anyway)
  • Lack of Content, Lack of Single Player Aspect
  • Terrible offline AI bots (Hunters) the monsters are decent

EDIT 8/11/2015 ***The Newest Bug "Take your DLC and Skins away bug"

    In Summary
I love this game and have put 200+ hours into this game. Its problems, terrible marketing, and repetitive gameplay crippled the game from the start. This trend would continue and this is the low the game is at today. One of the only reasons I purchased this game as stated before because I got it for 70USD with all the DLC (Season Pass 1 & 2). This game would be amazing if they added more content and did not only focus on the multiplayer aspect of the game at the start of its release. Should you buy this game, umm well as sad as this is for me being a player I would have to say no, or wait when this game is on sale with all its DLC for 20-30 USD as a collector’s bundle or something. The only thing that could save this game is for the DEVs to switch the game over to a F2P model, and sell characters seperate or in packs.
