What more can be said about Empire at War? It is an incredible RTS game period. Sure ground combat is kinda meh, but who cares, THE BIG HULKING STAR DESTROYERS IS WHERE IT'S AT BABY! The Vanilla game is extremely fun and can entertain you for years and years. It did for me. If I had to choose 3 games to play for the rest of my life, this would be one of them. Where this game truly shines for me now though, is the absolutely incredible modding scene that's still strong, almost approaching two decades after the release of this perfect gem. Plus, Petroglyph, the absolute legends they are, are still doing occasional updates and bug fixes and supporting modders.

If you like Star Wars, or RTS games, or hell, if you're alive, buy this. On sale or not, it's worth every dollar.
