Grabbed the plat edition at 91% off (14.65 USD). Nothing could go wrong.
Still enjoying it in 2023 with new leader updates.

It runs on low tier MacBook!

OS: macOS Big Sur 64
Model: 13-inch Pro 2018
Processer: 2.3 GHz Quad-core i5
Memory: 8 GB 2133 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Iris Plus 655 1536 MB
Average FPS (Lowest Setting): 35-40

Kinda smooth, the performance is somewhat better than on Civ 5.
Late game slow turn changing can be eased with built-in 2D strategic view mode.
I usually do my city planning with that mode as well.
