Early Access Review
I feel that the clueless crew game is very curious.
The graphics appear to be based off the idea of a late PS1 to early PS2 horror title such as silent hill, and gameplay perspectives of games such as Lethal Company.
The concept of a crew that goes into abandoned facilities in search of anything that can be turned around is definitely not a new concept, but whats intriguing is that clueless crew seems to allow a single player mode.
The enemies also seem to be largely reminiscent of Silent Hill enemies as well. Such as a walking rabbit, or a large floating disembodied head.

Pros;
The atmosphere is good
the graphics are charming
I like that it allows for single player.

cons;
I feel that the atmosphere could be made a little better by implementing the idea of some consistent ambient sounds. examples are: some chains rattling, wind blowing, etc.
I feel that there should be more of a timer before "sunrise" possibly one that displays on screen and the reminder.
The select-able characters are a little limited, as in the beginning you can only select one.

While I feel that the game definitely has promise, I am a little confused by the death animation. It seems like the death animation when sunrise takes place, shows the character collapsing but then off screen mostly, it shows the character bouncing around like a ragdoll. It then says "You died" but in the report, it says "deaths: 0" "death penalty: 0%" Survivors "kuriatsu" or thereabout.

I don't feel that the game is bad in any way, but I do feel that it needs a bit more polish, and it'd be a lot of fun.

Quantum break is one of those games, that is like Alan wake. This review is not anything anybody hasn't heard before though, but this review will have spoilers.

In-universe it makes sense. in-universe its really a good story. out of universe, its a good story too.
But if you view it from outside the intended viewpoint, as a player, it has certain... Flaws that should have been fixed.

But lets talk about the positives first.
1. great story.
2. great characters.
3. great quantum mechanics, despite the confusion they can cause.
4. great graphics for the time.
5. fantastic references if you squint, or go looking.

But, that being said there are 3 things that should be fixed.
1. the checkpoint system.
The checkpoint system seems to not be progressively based, it seems to be based in chaos. sometimes I go through a level and find myself just before a boss and jack dies. then I'm sent all the way back to the beginning of the level/act/area and didn't hit any checkpoints at all. But I go through it a few more times and then suddenly it throws me a checkpoint randomly, and then I go through it a few more times and it gives me a checkpoint just outside the door to the boss. its weird. Then later it gives me a checkpoint JUST after I pick up a specific gun randomly. The Checkpoint System needs to be reworked if its ever remastered.

2. Changing guns randomly.
Many games have an effect of changing your gun when you run out of ammo. That effect is great and often very helpful. But not in Quantum Break. In QB what happens is that your pistol ammo is infinite. So if you use your pistol as your main gun, then what happens is that every so often, but not so often that it won't trip you up severely, it will randomly switch your gun to another one if you have it, even though you're not out of ammo. This should be something that is worked on as well.

3. the bosses and enemies are often very cheap. I played it in hard mode. I acknowledge its supposed to be hard. But some of the encounters with enemies were infuriating, not because they were hard, but because they were cheap.

4. The live action segments are great, the acting is stellar, and the game interacts with the live action very well. However, the aspect of being unable to download the videos at all is disruptive, and will cause issues down the line if the servers go down.

5. The ending kinda sorta didn't make sense. Depending on the interpretation, quantum physics are bent to its knees with this game. If you go based on back to the future, then we get the general idea that time can be changed. But the problem is that the entire game has this ideal that Time Can't Be Rewritten. That's the entire message of the bad guy, and some of the main characters in the hero's team. particularly Beth, and Will. But the problem with that is that that's not how the game ended.
Jack is in severe pain and ends up disappearing and then all of a sudden he's in a monarch interview and he meets with Martin Hatch. Did he get summoned to the Quadratum?

The Specific version of time travel in this game seems to dictate that time is as it was, there are no changes no matter how big or small. Jack does this and will do it again and again and again. Beth has concerns as outlined in her journal, and will again and again and again. Serene has worries about the end of time happening, and believes it to be inevitable. But the ending of the game, regardless of if the end of time happens in 2016 or 2021, isn't clear on this detail, and implies that time is not as clear cut as the entire game says it is. So its frustrating and gives an unclear intention and makes the message its trying to convey very fuzzy.

I could believe some stuff I've read about hatch being this or that, or what his goals are, but there isn't a clear connection between the ending and the interview with Hatches soldiers. I'm not saying everything needs to be in a nice neat little bow. I'm just saying that it should be something like jack saying "And then I woke up here, and you started interrogating me." or something.

I'd play a sequel, but this game made me infuriated in some parts, I'd give it a 6 of 10 just because of the changing guns without my prompting, the bosses being cheap and the checkpoint system. If those somehow are fixed, I'd give it a 9 of 10.

Ultimately, I bought the physical timeless edition for $1.80 with a working code. It was worth the price I paid. But I didn't expect to have so many issues playing the game. At least there weren't any technical errors.

Alan wake is like that tv show that you watch for no reason other than a time killer.
Not only is it repetitive, but the gameplay is terrible, and the story is inconsistently inconsistent.
When you think of the phrase "the lady of the light" you think of an eponymous figure such as the lady of the lake in Arthurian lore, instead of the real truth.
All of these things, should, in any other place, create an unfortunate existence, but only in this place(and the other platforms it exists on) can the game create a truly memorable experience...in Night Springs.
