Progression feels terrible, as does the skill tree. The loot amount is very poor, and because of this, you lack the resistances or stats required for your build. In PoE 1, you could finish the acts with 4-5-link gear while gaining survivability through the skill tree. Currently, there is literally only one node with an +HP stat.

The location design is also poor. You often have to fight in a cramped 1x1 square, getting body-blocked from both sides. Additionally, you can't customize your only dash option.

The balance in this game feels like a joke (+20 inventory slots? Seriously?).

On the positive side, the core game loop remains the same and is incredibly addictive, while boss fights feel engaging and feature stunning visuals.

UPD: Reached the maps and played them for about 10-20 hours. Due to the low monster density, uninteresting crafting, lack of decent drops and poor layout design (imagine you are doing same catacombs with 2x2 corridors every map) you simply don’t get as many endorphins from mapping as you did in the first game.
