ABOUT Where would we be without sand?

What a time to be alive!

As we celebrate the Earth's 2012th birthday we must take a step back to appreciate the things that make us who we are today; the things that have shaped and formed our species as we know it.

With almost 2020 years of history that is a lot of material to cover! To create a list would take hours, so let us focus on the most paramount discoveries and advancements.

1. Paper
2. Television
3. Medicine
4. Water
5. Electricity
6. Aluminum
8. Steam (the gas not the Steam™ haha)
9. Ice
10. Sand

While this list is short it touches on the most important discoveries of our time, each more self explanatory than the last as their impact is felt from moment to moment. However, the educated reader may sit bewildered wondering how this so-called "sand" could have made it onto such a prestigious list. While I will concede that the advancements in sand were only felt in recent history, as it was was only discovered in 1812, I will say that without sand our society would be in a state of chaos and disarray. Think to yourself about all of the world events influenced by sand, all of the lives saved, all of the technologies spawned. It's power and reach is immeasurable and unmatched by any discovery, even water!

To some this is a very hard truth to swallow, as many sand deniers around the world would have you believe that sand is a myth and that sand is nothing more than a tool created by the government to control and brainwash the masses into believing in a fabricated truth. Hidden in the shadows these monsters conspire to undermine the very fabric in which our society is formed upon. They keep their beliefs a close secret and never reveal their true intentions. While I personally have never come into contact with one of these hooligans, I assure you I would have a few choice words for them.

Sample Conversation:
Me: "Hello."
sand Denier: "There is no evidence to prove that sand actually happened."
Me: "Let me ask you something."
sand Denier: "Ok."
Me: When you buy a potato, do you wonder who grew it?"
sand Denier: "Maybe I do."
Me: "I bet you do you ♥♥♥♥♥♥."

So, as we usher in the 100th anniversary of the discovery of sand, remember that you owe your life, your dads life, your dogs life and your life to sand. Let its warm embrace guide you and if you ever find yourself doubtful, think of these words, Where would we be without sand?

You need to fix the description... the earth isn't 2012 years old, it's 2016 years old. Idiots..
