In Remembrance of the West Coast Zombie Panic Minecraft Server

(Long but important message -- worth the read, I think!)

My friends, today marks a conflicting time for me.

Approximately 10 years ago I first arrived on the WCZP Minecraft Server. With the admin yumekoi to assist, I waltzed out of that survival spawn entrance and left out into the unknown -- having no idea what awaited or what would result.

I traveled across some tract of land on my expedition to find a home. I chanced upon a village laid in ruins. With a little help and admin magic (to respawn the villagers) -- it was there the first City of Jerusalem was founded. Likewise, it was there that I founded the Kingdom of Jerusalem.

Over time, I would make a multitude of friends -- many of whom are here in this group -- many of whom who are sadly not (or are no longer around).

I remember well the first construction of the Jerusalem-Mirkwood Railrood (courtesy of tigerfiger55 and fru1tl00ps). I remember the many discoveries of distant villages which I restored and annexed for the kingdom. I recall John's Island, Brennan's wool houses, Vonduko and rex55's treetop jungle village (which rex55 was adamant was not to be messed with). I remember MrAssortedNoodle's mushroom island (later Mushroom Kingdom, I believe) discovery -- and the many infamous events that made up our experiences at the "Old WCZP" server.

I would turn my attention also to those servers that followed the "death" of the original WCZP. There was "New WCZP" -- that is, the same server, but a new map that was forced upon us -- all was lost, save Mirkwood, and we engaged for a time in a desperate search for the lost city as if it was Atlantis or Shangri La or El Dorado -- and I think we did find it, only to lose it once more.

Later, we had the iterations of servers -- POPOTATOH and striker -- Cameron and Mart -- and all of your efforts were appreciated, even if, like WCZP they just were not meant to last.

While some of you may have forgotten or decided to let rest these past memories, I have carried them on -- should any of you have wished to recall the "good old days" -- the "golden years" -- this group has discussion posts full of memories and notes. Even after all this time, should I find or remember anything -- I would add it to these notes.

Friends, I wish you all the best. Thank you for the memories and the friendship -- even if we have grown apart, the memories are still there. Life is difficult -- it is full of trials -- but it is these simpler, happier moments that keep us moving onward and upward. This is, of course, a long message -- but I hope that it brought forward some positive memories.
