Roe preamble

I wonder how many people think like I do? How many think that...well that I certainly didn't deserve a bad grade on that paper. The professor is just to dumb to get the juxtaposition I layed out.

People are just so...arghhh!!!

Shit. That white boy again. That muscled up corn-fed man.
"Don't sit next to me.", did I say that aloud?
Don't let me talk to you like you never do and don't let me hear you.
"Crap. He sat down right next to me. Gave me a smile", stop talking aloud Roe!
What does it mean??? His regular seat had dookie on it???

"Hi. My name is Ellis.", right off he says.
Respond Roe, but I don't. I smile and stare at the bus floor. Knights of Columbus, now is the time to speak!!!
"My name is Rochelle", good response. Tic for tac.
"You know in old Europe, they threw their pee pots right outta the windows?"
What the hell is he talking about?

Screw it; just get tonight's Vegas banquet out of the way. Some more nights catering
something like this and take a month off on Europe and screw college.
Forget that you have longed to talk to a pee pot talking man who...

All a crash in colors that don't exist.
My body seems above me as the bus runs straight into the Majestic lot; runs right into that damn casino.

All a blur in sounds that don't exist.
I'm floating, no wait, whats his name is carrying me.

"Ellis, will get you out of here.", and behind me the world burns.

All a scene that can't exist.
There are people running in place gnawing on burning limbs and groaning low.

"Ellis, get me the hell out of here!", I scream.

"I promise you."

Nick preamble

It spins and it is still spinning both my world and my immediate consciousness. Spinning, spinning and then I realize it is water. As I pick up my newly discovered water, the glass catches and glints to me the image of John Sheppard in the main hall. A quarter's edge is all the difference in the world between him and me. He knows it. He has too.

How he strolls through the Majestic like he owns the place, and he does, handing out little hoots to drunks and waves to the big spenders. A dime's edge, that is what separates you and I, gambling man with the Johnny Cash ensemble like your leaving Vegas tonight and me with my watered down water spinning and I'm just about to scream.

"Coach! Did I just spend my last ten on water?"
"It's cool, Nick, you've been snoring in that water for two hours now", he smiled, "Might be time to wander upstairs. Don't you work in the morning?"
Smiles, and part time smiles and he's still smiling as I stagger off my seat.
"Your right, Coach. You go on to that ball team of yours tomorrow and I'll be here fleecing the flock."
“Hey, hey, Nick, the Vegas banquet is tonight!”, Coach roars low and smiles again.
I'm even smiling as I realize 'going upstairs' will possibly be the greatest challenge of the night. It is to laugh and I do. I hate happy people.

I'm in an elevator. It is dark and it smells. How unoriginal. Head banging under the low flashing of the florescents.

Through the glass caged elevator wall, I see many people smiling with toothy grins and rushing toward me. I must be famous, just like John Sheppard. Oh, wait. I see my drooling fans and I see other people killing those people. I see a smiling Coach bashing heads in along with some overgrown kid. It seems as though he is calling to me. Oh, and some of the people are dining on the other people's bodies. Nice touch, Nick. This one seems to real. C'mon Nick! Shake this off.

Just another drunken nightmare is all; just one more to forget - just like the rest of them.
