"Ruining your experience since whenever I uploaded this"

The Immersion Destroyer is a mod for the game Insurgency, a first-person shooter developed on a heavily modified version of the Source engine. What it does is it takes the many sounds, textures, and models and replaces them with garbage and other annoyingly-styled pieces of work.


This mod is simply a fun joke conjured by me and a few friends. In all seriousness, this is more of a collection of modding experimentation in the form of nonsensical humor. Modding for Source as a whole can be very, very complicated for many reasons, one of the biggest of them being that Source itself is a sandbox of opportunity. It's also always fun to take something so immersive and twist it to oblivion, right?


Whether you've used the modification or not, you may be asking yourself, "why does something so senseless and intentionally broken need a whole group?" Well, this is because we want anyone and everyone to send us content to implement into the Immersion Destroyer. Whether it be a sound, a texture, or even a model or an animation, so long as it fades the immersion away, it's perfect. We hope to eventually replace a majority of the sounds and textures throughout Insurgency, while keeping the game 100% playable with the added flavor of depleted immersion through it all. It shouldn't, however, be something that gives users an advantage or a disadvantage (i.e. big glowing textures, fullbrights, etc.). That being said, we need to go over guidelines for submitting stuff to be added to the Immersion Destroyer:

- No extremely offensive topics (it's okay to be a little over-the-top, but don't go crazy)
- No explicit content
- Do not reveal personal information in any way, shape, or form in your submitted content. Remember, this is public
- Try to make sure that a texture or sound you are submitting hasn't been submitted before, because if we've seen it, we've probably already added or rejected it
- The Steam Workshop guidelines apply here as well, so take all of them into account
- Do not try to find loopholes around these rules. While the Immersion Destroyer is all fun and games, we take the moderation of it seriously. Doing this intentionally will result in your content being removed from the mod as well as prohibition of further cooperation.

Following these guidelines will ensure you a wonderful time here and it will also grant you the ensured destruction of your immersion in Insurgency.
