This is the Steam Group for the Monastery/SillyZone community. We have been a community since 1998, hosting all kinds of games from TFC, to HL2DM, and most recently Empyrion and Minecraft.

History:
The SillyZone (SZ) was the name given to a Team Fortress Classic (TFC) server run by Avatar-X. With his mods, it became "the most heavily modified TFC server in existence" that added many fun features that were not present in the original game. Eventually the burden of maintaining the server was too much and the SZ closed up shop in 2002. Two servers arose from the community- 'The Monastery' and 'The Yaypit'. Though both servers were different, they held and entertained the community of friends and gamers from the SZ.


The Monastery (Mona) main server has been run by Ceown with games such as TFC, Sven Co-op, both using mods created by Zap, HL2DM using Shyotl's mods, and TF2 using those same mods, and HL2DM again just before its closure. The Mona forums have been hosted in the past by Phut and SirLamer, but as the community changed they are gone. Discussions are held using the steam group's forums. The other server, The Yaypit (YP) was owned by Baron, ran TFC and HL2DM, and used modifications created mostly by Shyotl in the same spirit as the SZ. The old YP server and forums are currently offline, and the domain was squatted (stolen) by Orbit.

The Chapel, the Monastery's partner server ran HL2DM with Yay commands as well but is now retired.

The Monastery TF2 ran from about 2011 to 2014, and is now retired. As of July 25th, 2015, the HL2DM server has closed its doors as well.
