ABOUT The Chroniclers

A group to organize all my videos and organize meetings in game! :D

As of right now, I will be using this group for various things, and the anoucements will usually cover important topics I think deserve a spotlight. When I get my PC up and running, expect a lot more video content on this page from my Youtube channel again. I hope to expand what this group does same as I hope to expand what I do on said channel. This will do for now though.

Feel free to use this as a place to contact me if you like, and I will likely post up events when I'm having a hard time finding players for a game, so if you play any of the associated multiplayer games, it'd be a good chance to know when I'm looking to play with friends! Welcome one and all and I hope you enjoy your stay! :D

Another personal update (and state of the channel update)

Hello again all! Just stopping by to let you guys know of a few important things that have happened.

First of all, about a day or so after I took my laptop into the shop, we got it back good as new! :D In fact it was better than we got it at first because a lot of the Dell bloatware was off it now, and I'm posting this annoncement now from this new computer. So now I'll be able to play TF2 a lot more and a lot more smoothly, along with other games I wouldn't have even considered on the other laptop.

Seconldy, I think it's clear that I've had a hard time motivating myself to work on videos. In particular, I want to improve more in League of Legends so I can get better with my commentary and criticism. The current series that was on the channel before this massive blackout was Plebs' Peer Review, and I'd already stated I wanted to use it for personal improvement as well as to help others. However it's far from the only thing I want to cover, and my motivation for playing League fluctuates a lot, let alone for recording it. I want to improve on my core mechanics not just because I want to rank up, but because I want to be able to teach people effectively instead of just being basically a backseat gamer post-game.

Finally though, I'm gonna be focussing on TF2 trading for the time being, and so long as I have stuff in my inventory to sell, I'm gonna make that my first priority because I want to eventually get into unusual trading.Sadly that means likely more delays for the channel and my recording, but after this check runs out I still want to have a chance to make some good money. And while I'm gonna be continuing to look for a job, unusual trading would be a really nice means to get something on the side that I can save up to get out on my own.

So a mixed bag in this update, but I hope now that you guys understand the delays a little more now. The new comp means I'll be able to play with you folks a lot more though so expect more events to happen when I need to fill a server. Take care for now all and I hope I can speak with you soon! :D

A VERY overdue update.

So there's been a lot that's happened since my last update on this page. Some big changes going through and I'll be honest, I've had a hard time motivating myself to make an update to this page, but there's a lot we've gotta talk about.

First lets get through the good news. The first part I want to cover is that over the past few days, I've been experimenting with FPS enhancing configurations to make TF2 playable for me on this Laptop. I can hapily say that with a few hits here and there (might not be playing scout as much considering some very odd animation errors that include that new shove move he's got), everything is working fine and the game is more than playable for me! In fact I already made a new friend when I was testing how it worked on an MvM server. I'll be staying on Steam more often if any of you want to play some games with me now. =3

EDIT: I forgot to mention though that this still only just runs well on this laptop. I WILL NOT be able to run anything in the background including Skype, so keep that in mind for people that communicate with me primarily through it.

Secondly, I finally got my Star Wars laptop (the one I was recording on) into the shop a few days ago and while it looks like it won't be easy, or cheap to get it back to working condition, they've been very active with giving us progress updates on how things are going. No general date as to when they'll have things done yet but just having it being worked on is a load off for me.

Finally, as far as the minor stuff is concerned, I really want to get back into TF2 trading again. When I get my recording setup back in order again I may even do some video guides as I've been researching a lot on generating profit fairly within the TF2 economy. Even with the big news that I'll be getting into below, money is still very scarce for my family, and if I can get a few unusuals sold through paypal (or even through the community market), that would be a big boost to help me get to where I want to be financially. Not to mention it would put my knowledge of the TF2 community and my new growing knowledge of high level trading to use. =3

Now finally the bigest thing to talk about is that a check for backpay from my disability payments came in a while back. It was one year's worth of backpay the Veteran's Affairs office owed me because it took that long for them to process that I was qualified.

For one year that totaled to a check for about $10,000.

Some of you might know that I was getting really stressed over a huge amount of red tape and a criminal investigation that took place because the first time they sent out said check, it was stolen as it was sent out to me. The idiots sent it out to me on paper AGAIN but thank goodness it actually came in this time. We've been able to fix a lot of quality of life issues with this money, as well as help support the struggling health of my family.

But that leads me into something I've been keeping back from you all for a long time, out of respect for my family. Something that no doubt feeds into my stress and contributes to my unhealthy mindset. I've had people thinking that once I got my check, everything would be perfect. That I'd be able to visit people across the entire country, be able to put a lot into savings, or just generally get my life off the ground.

The hard truth is that none of that is going to happen for a long time.

That being because right now my family is in control of the money from my check and all my disability payments. I've given that control to them willingly so they can pay their bills and survive. The reason I won't be moving out on my own for a while is because I want to leave them in a position where they can keep themselves afloat and not have to rely on my money or help around the house.

This feeds into my depression and helps me feel worse about the idea of becoming independant at all. That's more something I need to bring up with my therapist so we can work through that but it's something you folks deserve to know too. It's gonna be a hard fought battle for me to turn The Chroniclers group into what I really want it to be, an entire website dedicated to the preservation of games and accurate information about all aspects to them, but I just want to put into text that I will get to that point someday. It's just that life is getting in the way right now and I need to get things sorted out before I can make my dreams into a reality.

I'll reveal more information about what I want this group to be when I have the chance to actually make it happen, but feel free to ask me about anything about the group, my plans, or just this anouncement in general. I hope this gives a better idea why things have been so hard on me before I posted this. Overall now things are better than they have been in a long time, but my mind still isn't in the best condition. Just like I've said to my family though, I will say to you.
