ABOUT Cult of Jesse

ALL HAIL JESSE

Explanation from the Owner: Jesse is an English Teacher that I met at an education conference a couple years back. He was wearing a pink shirt and a black tie and we had a wonderful conversation about how important it is to know how to write. Lo and behold, the very next weekend I get into a dispute with some friends about the merits of learning how to write well. I kept referencing Jesse and one of my (very annoyed) friends sarcastically suggested that I should make a Cult of Jesse if I liked him so much. Well, that's exactly what I did!

Holidays:

Jesse Day: J-Day is always on the second Friday in June (the annual anniversary of the conference where Jesse and I met). On Jesse day it is customary to wear a pink dress shirt. The black tie is optional.

Day of Righteousness: The day of righteousness, celebrated annually on March 13th, is a day to commemorate the victory of my L4D2 team over an opposing team led by an obvious aimbotter. We defeated this team simply by outplaying the cheater in every other way. On this day, we showed him and his sorry friends that cheating does not give you an easy way to win, and our team was ultimately inspired by Jesse to perform this great feat. The Day of Righteousness is a day to remember that cheating is not an option, and that it does not make you good.

Day of Retribution (New!!!):

The day of righteousness, celebrated annually on August 23rd, is a day to commemorate our victory as an executioner and SK combo in the game "Town of Salem." In this game, the mafia had two blackmailers. I won as the exe on Day 2 by hanging my target, yet the mafia kept me blackmailed all game. As a result, I sided with the SK and in what can only be described as a miracle, we made the mafia pay for their blackmailing ways one by one by one, with the witch being the first to all. This day celebrates this moral victory and serves as a reminder that even in the most difficult of times, there is a way out.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I Celebrate Jesse Day?: I already mentioned the pink shirt. While Jesse Day is first and foremost about how awesome Jesse is, it is also a day to think about the teachers, mentors, friends, and family members that have had an impact on you. Let's not make this too sappy though. The most important thing is to eat cake. It is a holiday after all.

Does Jesse Know About This?: No, and let's keep it that way.

Is This a Joke: Of course it is. That doesn't mean we can't keep a straight face when talking about the awesomeness that is Teacher Jesse
