I've gotten permission from Spasmic Monkey to become the leader of the Suicidal Maniacs and Crew.

The idea is to make the clan (or keep the remaining players and the new players that join) a group of people who enjoy playing together. That is essentially what the clan's original intentions were, but I'd like to officially say it.

The clan has died down a bit and we will be gaining new members as I find people I enjoy playing with, but any previous members who wish to remain in SMAC can do so and any member who was previously SMAC and has left is free to return and use the tag. So if you've joined the black holes that are the Ducks and the Gents, absorbing the Guns community, and wish to return to SMAC as we regroup and gain new members, feel free to start using the SMAC tag.

And most importantly, if you have anyone you enjoy playing with and think that the clan would also have fun playing with them, I'd be glad to invite them.

I would like to keep the clan as calm and collected as possible. I want it to help new players and join their ship to help them play (when possible) instead of sitting on a full team and obliterating the noobs like many other clans do now. Of course, it is impossible to do this constantly as teaching new players can be tiring, stressful and annoying, so don't worry too much about it (or if you just don't like teaching less skilled players, that's fine. Just try not to push them way from the game). I just don't want to have SMAC be known as another large, noob unriendly clan so I'd prefer if the team stacking was kept down to a minimum if possible. I may be asking too much, but I'll see what happens and roll with the flow of what happens in the future.

If the clan ends up being just a group of people who enjoy playing the game together, I will be happy. If the clan ever gets large enough again, we may want to consider joining tournaments, but that is something to discuss in the future and will not be something that we will plan right now.
