ABOUT Six Silly Somethings

Welcome all to Six Silly Somethings! This group was set up as a means of getting together interested players who are going to try out competitive Team Fortress 2 - whereas the Nine Nasty Noobies group will be focused on Highlander (and of course the running Highlander tournament in ETF2L) this group will be focused on playing 6v6, the most well-known competitive format. Once again, you don't have to commit to anything - it's just going to be a way of trying it out.

The usual disclaimer of 'we're gonna get rolled but we'll keep the noob-friendly attitude' also still applies. ;)

We're looking at getting a spot in the lowest division of ETF2L's next season.

Also keep in mind: while there's definitely room for some offclassing every now and then, I'd prefer everyone to be able to play at least one of the main classes of competitive 6v6 (Scout, Soldier, Demoman or Medic). Please mention below what you can play.

So meanwhile, as we just try and keep a little bit of activity, I started practicing a fair bit on pubs again...

and BY SAXTON HALE IS THIS ANNOYING.

what is up with all the stupid nonsense bullshit weapons on pubs lately? have people forget all they do is sacrifice consistent good damage output for getting stupid instagib kills (a trend Valve seems to have followed ever since the huntsman hit the servers, being the first weapon that is arguably not nearly as useful as the hard-to-use but useful sniper rifle yet gives LOLBROKENHITBOX ENJOY INSTADEATH IDJIT)

And yes, I know I'm likely late to the party again, but I want some of these weapons to be sent back to whatever plane of hell spawned them. The Liberty Launcher. OH GOD THE LIBERTY LAUNCHER. a crutch weapon developed to make it easier for bad soldiers to kill scouts. it's like goddamn natascha all over again, people defeating you just because they happen to run a stupid unlock (apart from the part where natascha was genuinely broken and this just makes it easier for idiots). no need to aim ahead and predict anymore because it's JUST LIKE REGULAR ROCKETS BUT 40% FASTER. I know it's not good but it's an absolute pisstake to fight as a scout. Dear Liberty Launcher soldiers, learn to play and use a good weapon instead of relying on crutch nonsense.

Pub scouts. The Soda Popper. Let's just give the scout a weapon that rewards doing nothing useful (something most pubbers really excel at) and give it minicrit instagib nonsense to balance this out. Worse even, it makes midfights a pain because those mini crits will be charged and you'll take a random long distance shot only to realize that LOL MINICRITS NO DAMAGE FALLOFF YOU'RE NOW DEAD. Also, Sandman. once again, not good, but LOLRANDOMSTUNSXD galore. And the shortstop is still stoopid.

last but not least, a word of support to our friendly medics... !@#$ the Pomson. WTF VALVE WHAT WERE YOU THINKING

Well, back to waiting for the DM servers to not be full for once I guess.
