A HEADS UP

I GREATLY recommend that you BACKUP YOUR SAVE before using the mod. While yes it doesn't actually touch any core game files because of how lua injection works, there's still a chance something might get fucked because of user error/flukes.

What does the mod do?

To sum it up, it's simply a mod that tries to balance certain aspects of the game while at the same time increasing the game's difficulty to make the game more intense and challenging while remaining fair to the player. There's a million different things the dumb mod does and I don't have enough room to list every single thing here, so go here for a somewhat complete list of things the mod adds/changes.

Pro Job Changes
So after a lot of consideration we felt that "145+" isn't where we wanted it. And while the name was cool for flavor and throwback sake, it didn't make a whole lot of sense considering there's only 100 levels in Payday 2. So we simply renamed it to "Pro Jobs."

It sounds like a lot changed but to summarize what's going on with Pro Jobs:
  • "145+" mode renamed to "Pro." (Duh)
  • OMNIA SWATs no longer spawn on this mode. (Details where they went below.)
  • You can now restart Pro Jobs on a failure.

That about sums it up. Pro Jobs still offer new enemies and new challenges compared to the normal game.

OMNIA SWAT changes
Like I said above, OMNIA SWATs will no longer spawn on the "Pro" mode. Instead they've been refitted to instead act as the elite "Zeal" equivalent for the Murkywater faction. Not only does this add new variants of OMNIA SWAT units this also adds unique Bulldozer units for them on the Death Sentence difficulty.

New Murkywater Assets
So this was a question I was presented with during the interim period of Crimefest, "What are you guys going to do about the new vanilla Murkywater faction?" Well, that's a good question. To be frank, we're not impressed with Overkill's attempt at a "faction" (a faction that consists of only two common units and specials). Despite this however, we did like the new "blue SWAT" unit they made. So we added him to the lower difficulty spawnlists for our Murkywater faction, and on top of this we've updated the assets for Murkies across the board.

Captain Spring asset changes
The last highlight of this update, we've already updated his squad mates and now we're moving on to the big man himself: Captain Spring.

We felt that he didn't stand out enough when next to other Dozers to help identify him in a crowd. So not only did we update his entire model, we also added visual cues to help you figure out how close he is to being defeated. His Visor will now shatter when his HP drops to about a quarter left.

Here's a quick instruction how to copy your savefile from Vanilla to Overhaul while we make an infographic.

1. Navigate to your PAYDAY 2 folder that contains your savefile.
2. BACKUP 'save098.sav' TO SOMEWHERE SAFE ON YOUR PC.
3. MAKE A COPY OF 'save098.sav'.
4. DELETE 'save077.sav'.
5. RENAME THE COPY TO 'save077.sav'.

REMEMBER, BACK-UP YOUR VANILLA SAVE, WHICH IS 'save098.sav', TO ENSURE IT IS NOT DAMAGED OR DELETED IN ANY WAY.

New Zombie Enemies
For the occasion, we added new variants of zombie enemies to their appropriate levels. This includes new zombie Zeals and Gensec SWATs.

A unique variant of Titan SWAT that comes with the zombie hordes and comes with his own unique voice set.

Safehouse Nightmare Revamp
Turns out we weren't satisfied with how Safehouse Nightmare was handled, turns out just flooding you with Nigh unkillable Dozers isn't that fun to play. So for Halloween we decided to do a small revamp to hopefully make it a decently fun Halloween heist that you'll actually play more than once for the achievements.

  • Changed Headless Titandozer spawns to be a much rarer occurrence and lowered the maximum amount of them active on the map at once (scales with difficulty).
  • Titandozers now have the same stats as regular Dozers. However you can still shoot them in their "neck nub" for "headshot damage" like before.
  • The main fighting force for this map is now a swarm of Titan Skeleswats to haunt your safehouse basement.

Regarding Crimefest
So as we all know Crimefest is coming up, and as you are all probably expecting things in the mod are going to break. There is a fairly good chance that the mod will not be in a functioning state during the event, so I'd recommend waiting until Crimefest is over before attempting to play the mod when it starts.

  • Updated Crook's descriptions to be more consistent with other perk decks.
  • Lowered Biker's base armor regen to 2 and base HP regen to 1 for every kill.
  • Lowered Maniac's stack decay to 30% + 80 base every 8 seconds. (from 60% + 80)
  • Maniac's stacks now occur every 2 seconds. (from 4 seconds)
