In short, we categorize games as one or more of the following, to keep it as unambiguous as possible:

Main Game Co-op🔗
Games where the main game/campaign can be played in co-op without any major limitations (Borderlands for example)

Standalone Co-op🔗
Games that have a separate, rich standalone co-op mode (Portal 2 for example)

Pure Co-op🔗
Games that can only be played in co-op or primarily meant for it (Left 4 Dead for example)

Other things we will point out:
- Number of players
- If co-op is available online or over LAN
- If couch co-op🔗 is available (shared/split screen)
- Instructions to get co-op mods, servers etc. working.

P.S.
If you submit a game for review we assume it meets these criteria and we'll accept it.
If we find out it's only a multiplayer game for example when we get to it however, we won't be able to do a review.

Here's the gist of it:

Team "co-operation"
Games like Counter-Strike and Dota that are tagged as "co-op".
Sure, you technically co-operate with other players but these are considered Team-based Multiplayer games.

Afterthought "co-operation"
Games like Blades of Time that has a proper main campaign, but the so-called "co-op" is only a tacked on tower defense/wave fighting mode.
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, where the co-op mode is just a few individual maps and nowhere near as fleshed out an experience as the main campaign.

Lackey "co-operation"
The worst offender of them all; Lackey/assistant "co-op" in games like Fable II or Far Cry 4. As a host, all your co-op partner can do is tag along. They aren't allowed to interact with the world in the same way as you, little to none of the unlocks or progression is carried over to their game, or main missions/quests are disabled as long as you're playing with them.
