The Price of Keys is Too Damn High! (defunct)

When I first got a small (though limited) understanding of the TF2 trade economy, somewhere between 2011 and 2012, keys cost around 2.66 refined. By 2014, keys had gone up to 7 refined and those that didn't have a good understanding of the hows and whys of the TF2 economy, such as myself, were shocked and upset by this. As a result, I formed this group, a sort of riff of "The Rent is Too Damn High" Party that was heavily memed in the early 2010s. As of October 2023, keys now cost around 66 refined and are steadily going up.

On some level, the idea of this group is still relevant, with the value of metal constantly going down, it has made the TF2 economy more and more difficult for people to get into unless they had already been in it for a long time, or happen to get lucky and unbox an unusual. But it's not something that can be changed. So this group will remain as a memoir of a foregone era, a group that no longer serves a purpose, but is not something I want to forget.
