Hi all,

I pondered and came to the conclusion about community participation. I think that a lot of people today need the simplified versions of text, and won't other wise read it.

Because of that, I don't think a lot of you guys have actually been reading the announcements at all. Well, that'll change. For now on, I'll make TL;DR announcements with easy bullet point info.
Sorry about not posting announcements, been busy. I by no means have stopped working on the project, and will continue to work.

Ok, TL;DR time

• Stealth will be a main focus in the game, more than loud. It'll work really well, and more fun than going loud. That'll still be allowed by all means, just not as encouraged as stealth

Hey everyone,

Not a tremendous amount of news this week, but we do have some cool updates.

I was able to get a hold of 3DS Max 2014 for a really low price, so I can actually make things and distribute them legally now.

Unfortunately due to some complications, several team members are no longer able to contribute to the project. We currently have no web designer or designated modeler.

If anyone would like to participate in the team, please add me on Steam and we can talk about it.

The entire web site is already planned out, and we already have some nice things planned on it. You’ll be able to pre-reserve a lot in the closed Alpha on there once it’s on. It should be exciting.

You can see a preview mockup of the site in the Screenshots section of this announcement.
On the website’s CRIME.NET, you’ll be able to view it just like in the game.

We’ve also got rigged view hand models for all four people, so that’s pretty awesome. You can see the rig below.

Ok, now the really cool stuff.

I’ve got a huuuge idea in mind for community interaction. The community will have different features that will allow them to contribute to the gamemode. What will you have, you may ask?

- In-Game Mask Designer & Texture Maker
- In-Game Pattern Designer
- Downloadable Level Designer (More details TBA)

The mask designer will allow the user to start with a base template and manipulate a set amount of polys on the mesh. You’ll also be able to uv map it as well. In layman’s terms, you can design and texture a mask.

After you design your mask/pattern, you can submit it on the community pd2gmod workshop within the game. After submission, you can actually vote for other masks that you want to see in the game. Each month, we will select the most voted mask and add it to the game! More info on that later.

Hey all,

Not an incredible amount of news this week, but we do have some updates.

For mapping - the Jewelry Store map's brushes were having some problems and a majority need to be redone. RedArrow is hard at work on fixing that. It'll be done soon.

I got the tripmines working properly with a team/enemy detection system, so that's pretty awesome. You can see it in the screenshots section of the post.

After the black screen after the assets menu, all the objective stuff comes up. I got that all working properly. A video on it is at the bottom of this post.

Also, head bobbing works, so that's pretty awesome.

And with the new Infamy system in the game, I got a whole lot of more programming to do. I have a lot of cool plans in store for my infamy system. I read a bunch of posts for suggestions on it, and I think a lot of them are really good. I'll try my best at implementing them. Cool stuff.

Hi everyone,

We've been hard at working with new stuff in the gamemode. I've learned a lot this week.

I learned how to animate in 3ds Max and I'm doing view model stuff now! You can see a demonstration of this at the bottom of the post. It took a long time, and I think the work paid off. Excuse the weird flashing lighting, no idea what happened there. Also - I'll replace the glove model/texture when I pull it into Garry's Mod. Since I now know how to animate, a lot more will get done now.

I have all the weapon models from the game, and I'm re-rigging them now. As of now, we have 25 guns.

Lots of work has been done on the map. It's taking a while to compile, so I can't have screenshots today :(

The website will be up shortly, with a donation page. Like I mentioned before, you can donate for rewards. It'll have a Kickstarter-esque feel to it.

Also, I'm learning Source Filmmaker and I'm working on a trailer for the game. If you're good at using it, I'd love to talk to you about working together on it. It's quite tedious.
