Of Kings And Men (formerly known as Melee:Battlegrounds) is an independently developed, third-person multiplayer “Persistent Medieval War” game.

Set in 13th century with both European and Eastern influences, you play as a character in a vast open world full of alliances and conflict, with an emphasis on player-driven experiences.

Find your play-style in Of Kings And Men with an abundance of different weapons to choose from, including Swords, Axes, Polearms, Bows, and Crossbows. Master the unique and straightforward combat system. There are no predefined classes meaning you can create your unique warrior fit for the battlegrounds.

Construct, Explore, Fight; it is up to you to choose your role within the world.

Beta starting Tuesday

To get ready for Early Access and Gamescom, we are starting the beta test Tuesday at 8pm UK Time, for a few days.

Give the game a try, see if you like it, and leave feedback - it will tell us how certain game mechanics work out, how we need to adjust progression, what servers we need to bring up in what locations, and what bugs there are left to squash.

Progression will be stored until EA release, then wiped.

We will initially host servers in West EU, West NA, East NA - if we see a lot of demand in other regions where we have the ability to host servers, we will bring up additional ones, if possible. Some Locations (eg Oceanic Servers) are tricky I'm afraid, we are aware that there is a demand for it, but it will take a bit to figure out, and they won't be ready at EA release. But we'll get to that part.

Gamescom
Starting Wednesday, 8am UK Time, we're showing the game to journalists! Yes, that time is poison for a gamer ;), but if you want to end up in gaming magazine footage, try and be there.

Especially important is Thursday, 9:30 to 11:30 UK Time - we are having a live interview there, we want to show scale :) (And if you're at gamescom come by and say hello)

In order to connect to a specific server, please do the following:

From Steam library, right click the game, click properties, then “Set Launch Options”•

Add a command line of: --master http://95.216.98.66:5000/
