To increase your star rating you need to pretty much excel at PvP. Cap objectives, get a lot of kills/assists, win PvP matches, destroy enemy stations, turrets etc. with as little respawns as possible.

Most people seem to get some kind of error or crash or lag after a while. The following things can be done to help, although nothing seems to fix permanently:

In the GA Launcher, click the gears icon, and run the defragment and validate game files tools. According to Hi-Rez Hanz in a customer support email he sent me, running them multiple times can help with issues such as not being able to access the Sonoran Desert and the game crashing after missions.

Turn shadows in your video settings as low as possible. This saves a ton of memory, and does not really affect how the game looks.

If all else fails, you can always type /bug ingame which will alt tab you out and bring up a bug report screen that goes straight to the Hi-Rez team. They WILL respond within 1-2 days via email.
