You guys are going to regret treating people like this one day. Or not. Maybe you're just self-absorbed sociopaths. Even as an introvert I understand the importance of interacting with people and being nice to them.

Pretending to be offline is just shady and something a liar would do. If you don't want to talk to them, just tell them. Don't be a spineless liar who tries to keep secrets. Be honest with people.
