while ingame, select an individual unit, then hit "c" you will be in unit view able to control ansd see whatever it sees. The view is ASTOUNDING, plus you can literally dogfight with it. planes use a mouse turn interface, but also the arrow keys. it has a weapon interface and view placement reticle. BIG MECHS have heads or torsos that turn independently so the mouse turns the head and there is a blue 'arrow 'for head view with a green 'arrow' for body orientation.

Bit really all ya need is the main program installed, you can download the maps and mods directly and auto-install from another player when you join the battle lobby! It's too easy. We have 1 guy and that's all he does!!!! Most players are getting maps from me as it is, i don't mind, but there are 5 of us with an impressive collections of mods (games) and maps to play!

TECH ANNIHILATION is by far in my opinion the best total annihilation mod yet. It has a tech facility that upgrades, a commander that upgrades 2x to assault commander allowing wxtra builds and even a personal shield. Most of the great old Total annihilation third party units are there along with the original 3.1 core contingency units and yes EVEN A THIRD RACE called TLL. the new race vehicles leave a little to be desired as far as wheel graphics and tank treads- but overall the race is cool and even cause a little bit of a balance issue, but it's good enough as it is. hats off to the developers of this one!!!!

There it is, hopefully imperial winter will be out soon!

turn on your adv. players list , you wil also be able to see your processor usage, and be able to ask for and recieve resources AND UNITS from your allies! Also turn on your commander name tags, it will help show you where your commander is, and also more importantly help you to be easily recognizable to your allies. Alos you may want music for some of the total annihilation mods that do not have it, so download and install the OTA PLAYER ADV. from the springfiles site it plays the music from the original total annihilation ( which is orchestral, and actuallt quite cool). i installed it in the actual game install folder ( there is another in my documents, and i put it there as well, and it is working well.) The other music download is broken and a pain to fix.
