This year I've moved the blog to myspace.com full-time. I've named the blog Scot is Lost, and even gave it a redesigned look and feel. It's all within myspace's tool set, so it's nothing special, but I like the way it looks. With the pictures and the new look, I couldn't just keep posting the text here for you guys. This has evolved beyond just the steam group, and you guys have been left with just text since the beginning. So, I will link to the blog here every week, and I encourage you all to go check it out. Question 1:



What happened to Aaron?

When last we saw him, Kate had pulled him out of Sun's car and ran off. Next time we see Kate, he is not with her, and she's telling Jack that if he wants her to go back to the island he'll never ask where Aaron is again. Jack of course agrees, but do we? Hell no. This screams flashback. My theory is that Kate brought Aaron to his grandma. Claire's Mom, Carole Littleton. Of course Carole could have appeared in "The Little Prince" merely as a doppelganger, but I doubt that. I believe her presence in Los Angeles to collect her Oceanic money not only works to make us think for a second that she was the one trying to take Aaron from Kate, but also in works to put her in the right place at the right time. Meaning to actually get Aaron from Kate.


Question 4:



What's up with Sayid?

When we last saw Sayid, he was storming off slip 23 telling Jack and Ben that if he ever sees them again it will be a very unpleasant experience for all of them. When we next see him, he appears to be in the custody of a Federal Marshall, but why would a U.S. Marshall be escorting him to Guam? Your guess is as good as mine on this one, I have no idea. It struck me as strange when I first saw it, and the only thing I can come up with is that she's not a Marshall, she's one of Ben's people.


2 for 2 so far. Not to mention I called it on the return to flashbacks as well. Yay! For me. Check back on my blog titled "We're Not Going to Guam Are We?" to follow along and see how many more I get right.

On that note, I've decided to take some time off from the blogs. The last two episodes, "Namaste" and "He's Our You", were good, but just not quite blog worthy. And while "Whatever Happened, Happened" was much better, all that's really happening on the show right now is things that I've been expecting. That doesn't really get my writing juices flowing. So until further notice, I am on hiatus. Until Lost blows my mind again, stay Lost and...

There were a lot of cool things that happened in "LaFleur". We got a little more background on the Dharma Initiative, a little more info on the Dharma/other relationship, or lack there of, and we got to see Sawyer get with Juliet. Sawyer became Jim LaFleur, Head of Security for Dharma, Miles seemed to work for Security too with Sawyer as his boss, and Juliet works on the Dharma buses. She even got to deliver a baby on the island, proving that she isn't a cursed death bringer. We even got a Sawyer sees Kate for the first time in 3 years cliff hanger. By far the best part about "LaFleur" was the possible return of the four-toed statue. Now it might not have been the four-toed statue since we never saw it's foot. No, Locke had to turn the damn frozen donkey wheel, and flashed them out of that time before Sawyer and company could investigate further. Still though, how many giant statues with four toes can there be? And how cool would it be if there actually was more than one, and that they were all different? So, assuming that there is only one statue, than this is the four-toed statue.

First of all, the statue was holding a pair of ankhs, the Egyptian hieroglyph meaning "life". Secondly, it had cat ears man. A friend told me he thinks it's Bastet, who in Egyptian mythology is an ancient solar and war goddess,and that she is a cat goddess with four toes. I looked her up, and it seems he could be right, except I couldn't find an image that looked exactly like the one on Lost.

I think the combined imagery of Bastet and the ankhs is meant to make us not only think Egyptian, but also ancient. The Colossus of Rhodes was a statue of the Greek god Helios, erected on the Greek island of Rhodes by Chares of Lindos between 292 and 280 BC. It is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Before its destruction, the Colossus of Rhodes stood over 107 ft high, making it one of the tallest statues of the ancient world. It was destroyed by an earthquake. The statue snapped at the knees and fell over on to the land.

Combine those two, throw in some of Lost's own mythos, and I think we're getting close. I'm sure this isn't the last we'll see of the statue. Now if we could just get a little more on the Hurley bird...

So it seems Lost decided it needed a week off, and so there won't be a new episode. Perhaps I'll put something together for next week, maybe my thoughts on the rest of "LaFleur" other than the statue. Then again, maybe I'll just take the week off too. Either way until then, stay Lost and...
