Scientia est Draco

How come nearly all cultures mitology or religion, even when having any contact at all with eachother, contains the same creature? How could evry culture have made up a creature that resembles the dragon? What if they where right? And that the dragons are true?

History of the dragons:
Hundreds of milions years before The humans was born the Earth was ruled by the Dragons. Today they are almost extinct.
Dragons was wise and powerfull creatures that mostly resembled the reptiles but diferent in many ways. Most locked like lizards or sepents, some looked like lions and birds, and some didnt look like anything known today. They where wise creature that had many diferent biological abilities like flying and magical abiliteis like brething fire. But most dragons was extinct together with the dinosaurs (that may have have been the creature with closest relation to the dragons, except that they didnt make use of magic like the dragons did), but some dragons survived. When the humans came they feared the dragons, but some took wisdom from them and learned many things. But the dragons had a big probem, they was gready. Their gread caused even more fear in the hearts of the humans. The humans started to hunt the dragons in fear of their power and nearly wiped out all of the few that hadnt goten wiped out with the dinosours, but some dragons was spared, not found or saved, and some still lives today.

Dragon definition:
The definition of a dragon isn´t that exact, some drgons can fly, others cant, some breaths fire, others do not, but they all have a reptile feature and all are magicall creatures.
