September 8th, 1861 - Front Lines of Florida The Federal forces are entrenched heavily along the small strech of coast that they control. They have absorbed all of our bombardments, and have beaten back our attacks. This is mainly in part due to the line of reinforcements that they are recieving from transports. I request that the Navy put an end to their reinforcements, and then we will be able to drive out the invaders. Thomas J. Jackson,
