Irish Counter:Strike Global Offensive Team

R.I.P. DECEMBER 2016 to SEPTEMBER 2017

I tried to form the Irish Scene to a higher standard by having a formal team, but our results didn't live up to it. Hopefully in the future, more teams will focus on acting formal and doing things seriously with a proper image through an organisation to help companies like RAID.GG grow bigger through Ireland. At the time of writing this (JAN 2018), Ireland is full of mixes of some very skilled players who need to form a serious imagine worth investing and sponsoring, which in turn will grow the tournaments and the scene as a whole. Although we failed, I hope other players will use our example to truly change and evolve Ireland in the world of esports. Currently, RAID.GG and CSCODEX are great examples of people using their own time for the greater good of Ireland in esports.

So the sad time has finally come to say goodbye to this chapter in our lives of CS, and what a time it was.

Early December 2016

Dmi3 creates sadboys// with Ex-ExiLe Team Mate Kehozer, Ex-ExQ Gaming Teammates jay and Kurty^, and Irish Player sk3chyy

Late December 2016

sk3chyy & Kehozer quit competitive CS due to personal reasons, YOMFG & Calvoo are added to the roster.

The following roster joins organisation Excillium Gaming:
• Dmi3 (AWP) • jay (IGL) • Calvoo (Entry) • jahk (Support) • Kurty^ (Lurk)

Early January 2017

Excillium revamps their organisation and we recieve new logos. This in turn will lead to our jersey design which will happen later on

Early February 2017

Calvoo is in his final year in school and does not have time to commit as much as the others in the team, therefore the decision is made to replace him with M1NTY, an Irish Player who played on Team Dedifire prior to joining. He takes Calvoo's Entry role in the team.

The jersey designs are released for the CSGO Team

Mid-March 2017

Team recieves jerseys and heads off to Bootcamp before the actual LAN Event, which we place Top 8 out of 16.

Excillium Gaming organisation closes

Late March 2017

Roster joins German Organisation, FoX Gaming

Late April 2017

jahk is replaced by former player sk3chyy due to internal problems between the player and the team. sk3chyy plays one match in ONETAPLEAGUE S1

Mid May 2017

sk3chyy is not in the correct mental state to continue playing competitively, the decision is made to replace him with COMPLEX while being 2-0 up in the ONETAPLEAGUE S1

Early June 2017

FoX Gaming is disqualified from ONETAPLEAGUE S1 before playing the decider match to the playoffs due to sk3chyy getting a VAC BAN, and due to having played a match in the league, the admins had to remove us from that season

Late July 2017

Dmi3 is on holidays and it is time to play the qualifiers for Celtic Throwdown LAN. Due to his circumstances and lack of play-time, and future lack of play-time due to school, the decision is made to replace him with mezy

Dmi3 stays as Manager / Coach role as it is less time consuming but still involved in the team

The team qualifies for Celtic Throwdown LAN without losing any series, taking the top of Group B

Mid August 2017

Team lands 2nd Place in RAID.GG S1 Redline Cup, two weeks before Celtic Throwdown LAN, giving us a big boost of confidence going into LAN.

Early September 2017

Team meets up at the same hotel from GamerCon, and enjoy the night before yet another LAN.

Next day they place 6th (1W - 3L)

Late September 2017

mezy and M1NTY leave due to school. Kurty leaves. Gravity and soney join. No fifth is found

Early November 2017

Most of the team quit competitive gaming and thus, the team ends
